my mind was wandering during economics... and i thought of blues snowmaking. any chance there will be a different strategy to opening this year? i was thinking it would be cool to open the base lodge first, with paradise, the school hill, terrain run and maybe razors/challenge. or open sidewinder?

remember how fast they fixed the snowmaking and installed the new guns on the left side last season? the trails can always open late too...

cant you just ask when you go get your pass? when i got my pass at bear last year the lady at the desk told me everything that was happening for the season, including a local cell phone tower. im sure someone at blue has to know. one way to be sure about the trail is this: is there any signs of snowmaking equipment?

but if they made some comps skier and boarder comps, you would get twice as much business, dig? plus boulder should not be having trouble getting ski sponsors as their parks were really talked about. im a snowboarder and i find it kind of lame, just as i find MRG no snowboarding lame

im putting my money on sugarloaf this year. theres no way mt snow can open before them, lower elevation and latitude. and yes killington is lame this year. ive only ever went there for early/late season or unless there was a really good reason to. a ton of resorts are going to stay open much longer than killington this year.

im really interested in the regrading. that was my biggest gripe about creek.

its to do whatever you feel like doing on it. transfer from one side to the other or just hit it like a normal c.

im road tripping to somewhere the first weekend any resort is open. except for woodbury ill pass on that, but i would definately like some company for the ride. personally i feel that this summer has been the fastest summer to date. granted the last time i snowboarded was in may, but between surfing and taking up skateboarding again, and various women it felt like nothing.

Last season they could've opened that weekend in October, or have begun to make snow if they wanted to. they are under new ownership(Boyne i think) this season so it would work well as a PR move. they have high elevation and located further north then other resorts. i had a link to a page where sugarloaf was open in october before, with top to bottom riding. plus i don't think it will be too crowded, its out in the boonies. plus Mr. sandwich, a ribbon of death at sugarloaf is probably safer then 20 open trails at killington.

I have been hearing all over the internet on ski/ride sites that sugarloaf is planning to open by 10/26, and remain open for weekends until sometime in november. discuss. and yes its crazy far away, but im going to be going if they do open.

from the information im gathering from weather sites, looking at potential changes in jet stream and long term patterns- its safe to say that it will be cold most of the winter, with some warm days in the mix. it will snow sometimes, and rain other times. ski areas around here will open in december, close in march, and boulder will stay open into april. bear creek say things to allude to staying open later but wont.

isnt the snowshed quad at killington detachable too? and mini zep. you dont have to type like an english major, but it hurts to read your posts.

ill still ride there if no where else is open as early. im really hoping sno pulls through though.

i might be able to do the bouncer thing or take some video or both. i wont know until the beginning of october, as theres a 50/50 chance of me being in lake placid on the 27th
