fairly confident that winter is finally on its way, i ordered a new air compressor for my snowguns today. i got the eaton contractor model. anyone on here have any experience with eatons? i found alot of good reviews on snowmaking websites so i went for it. hopefully it works better then my old porter cable did.

i cant wait until spring gets their shit back open. place seemed really cool. different vibe then any area ive been to, i liked it alot.

Update 1-8-07: It looks like we might have an opportunity to make snow tonight starting between 10PM and 2AM. The next few nights look even more promising!

ive been waiting......while riding at boulder and frost for the past month. i did get up to bear while they were open one time, and i thought both their jibs were really well built. bears felt more slick to me though, but that might of been because it was around 60 degress? also, didnt boulder have a nice stairset on the boulder park last season?

looks like he really did jinx it. weather.com is saying temps in the sixties next weekend. damnit.

heres the pics just pretty cool to see a mountain no one really talks about with solid snowmaking power. they would greatly benifit from a group like parklogic. anyone want to start a little project? im lazy and dont feel like getting a real job and that would be fun as hell. i got the welding tools.....

went there today. fun to just mess around for a bit, practiced butters and whatnot. having never been there, i was actually kind of impressed. has anyone seen the backside of the mountain? they have big ass piles of snow on the trails. from my vantage point they looked near 10 ft high, ill have pictures of them posted in a little bit. questions for those who have been there during a real winter: do they build jumps or tabletops? also, how many rails do they have? the ones i saw today looked pretty beat, especially that rainbow rail.
-
of course you should bother. they have enough snow to last through this spell.

i was thinking the same thing all this week. i know the surf is good during the winter around here but its usually too cold. im thinking about heading to the sandy hook area. i was planning on going to blue, but surfing is looking like a better alternative to riding this weekend.
-
the same thing that happens to jumps built from all snow. park crew adds snow and fixes it up. it would probobly be much easier to maintain a good shape since its basically already there.

well if wouldnt be just a board to use in the park but to ride in general. my artifact is a good board, but im starting to find alot of thigns i dont like about it outside the park. also, im selling a few of my old boads to some people i know, so that money is going straight to a new one if i get it. i also didnt notice the icon only came in those sizes. im going to head up to a few shops saturday and see if they have any models from last year to keep the price down a bit.
-
I just started jumping for the first time this season today, and my artifact is not cutting it. i was looking for something not too soft, but can initiate spins easily. im trying to keep the cost below 400, but there is so much shit too chose from its really hard to narrow anything down. any suggestions? i was looking into a gnu riders choice, but have heard mixed reviews about those. ive heard good thigns about technine icons, but i cant seem to find a shop that sells them near me off of their dealer locator.

temps look good next week. winter is said to arrive then.

compensation could be a number of things, but i doubt it will be a pass at blue. they said it will be announced towards the end of the season, so maybe a discount at the shop, free or discounted offpeaks for next season, a slew of free lift tickets, or a complete refund. as sad as the situation is, i agree with what most people are saying. at least bear is trying to come up with ideas and plans to keep interest and their passholders happy.
-
well the lights are now on. i think theyll be firing up soon. not like itll really help much in the grand scheme of things, but seeing bear blowing would be nice
-
dallas is to football as this weather is to skiing and riding. unecessary and unwanted. sorry ive been making analogies all day for some reason. anyone heading to frost tomororw?
-
Ah men. all last year when i would go to blue i would just get really frustrated because i saw alot of stupid things. like why are blues jibs always on a mound of snow? just build a kicker up to the rail and keep it flat, thats progression friendly. blues booters really werent that good and i always felt that the park didnt have a flow to it. boulder this year was the best time in a park ive had in a long time. nice flow, fun features. bear creeks park was tons better then blues ever was, and that was even while dodging bare spots and hitting rocks a few weeks ago. blue just seems like they cant ge the proportions right on their ramps and rail setups. also, im not going to go to a mountain just for booters. hype them up all you want, but i want quality rails and quality jumps so i can progress in both aspects of my riding, not just one. boulder and bear for lyfe yo what what?!?!

well considering most meteorologists have been saying this for a while, i think there is a good chance. el nino is weakening. hes a bastard. edit:now that i read more into it, it doesnt say anything about the northeast. hmmm, i always wondered how some of those hills in minnesota and the midwest rode. i actually went to a resort in iowa in the summer, it looked like fun.

i feel your pain. my snow gun has been ready to go for a very long time.
-
hahaha yessssssss. sucks though, i really wanted to go to sno this year. i gew up skiing at montage. hopefully ill get to go once this year.
-
hopefully they get to blow tonight. can they aim the guns to try and get the piles on the already existing patches of snow? would be better then blowing onto warm grass.
-
not this weekend, maybe next. they got horrible production last night.
