tomorrow night seems to be another day to me. looks like they are getting decent production.
-
ill ride anything at this point in time. i think it looks like it could be fun

http://wwwa.accuweather.com/news-blogs.asp...amp;blog=larson no change in the weather pattern in sight. with such a short ski season in pa, will many mountains be able to open or even if the weather pattern doesnt change? this says any cold air that comes through will only stay for 48 hours at a time. so thats maybe 10 hours of snowmaking every week or 2 weeks or so. doesnt look good.
-
wow spring has alot of snow. wtf. hopefully bear blows tongiht and tomrorow night.
-
bear is closed becasue there is barely any snow, not because they wouldnt get people to come with shitty conditions. please. we would all love for bear to have shitty conditions right now. shitty conditions are better then none.
-
yeah i saw that. doesnt make sense.id be interested to see what shape the trails are in though. i think spring also made snow a few more days then bear did so maybe thats it.
-
what i was talking about is this: to get good production of snow it has to be below 28 degrees, maybe even colder due to humidity. bears pond temperature is also high, so factor that in and it has to be even colder. i want nothing more then to ride bear i just dont see them able to open any time soon.
-
that would be the greatest christmas gift if that would happen. tis the season. of winter. edit:actually accuweathers forcast sucks ass for macungie. maybe 4 nights in the next 3 weeks.
-
yo dude, ill be up with a few dudes on wednesday. white rome artifact, black and white figments, dark bluish kind of bonfire jacket.maybe a bad lueitenant helmet. holiday rates will be in effect. if you see me dont hesitate to say hello!
-
next weeks lookin good for lows at night. very good.
-
subarus are better then a school bus. better mileage and all. and with ironworks craftmanship i feel the bear version will be better, especially since blues lips and landing will probobly be really awkward
-
me thinks they could blow enough for a jam next wednesdayish
-
you get a 50 percent off discount at killington if you do, but thats the only one i know of and im 99 percent sure bear isnt owned by ASC
-
as far as i know, the resorts havent really discussed it, there is probobly too much at stake since they are owned by different companies. the only way i see this happening is if the PA tourism board offered one, so that no single resort was getting all of the money for a pass that may only be used there once and used at another who gets none of the money. i think that makes sense, damn headache$#$#
-
but what was said about blue has alot to do with the topic at hand. i honestly dont think blue should offer a discount, unless bear made a deal with blues management or something. haha maybe the bc iron works could make blue some actual good rails and boxes for blue and in exchange blue could let bc passholders in. that way both mountains and their loyal passholders win!
-
i hope to god you are serious im so there. both nights. with snow and ice. although the weather is making everyone on end, including me, about passes and all, honestly this right here is one of the main reasons i bought one. i had the most fun on a snowboard i had all last winter at bear. glad to see you guys are still trying to offer fun stuff to do.
-
lets do some poaching at blue. we gotta get on the trails by not going through the two scan points. once were on were good as long as we dont use the lodges. man im getting desperate. i was seriously looking at google earth and planning routes. f*ck
-
el nino, not global warming. also the fact that were mid atlantic, we get all sorts of rediculous weather patterns due to ocean currents and jet stream fluctuations. i remember many a christmas when i was younger going outside without a jacket.
-
depending on where you live you could always find a ride with someone from here, once bear creek opens that is.
-
i got an offpeak for 170 bucks, since i try to stay away from weekend crowds. spent well over 100 at blue, over 100 at boulder, once to killington, once to hunter. i really dont want a refund, just want to ride. it sucks that they couldnt be further north, the management's heads are in the right place, just wrong geographical location.
-
hypothetically speaking, say you guys arent able to get the mountain up by mid january, considering thats what this forcast im looking at is sort of hinting at. will there maybe be a way season pass holders could return their passes? ive already spent more then twice the cost of my pass at other mountains
-
for the past month accuweather has put the week ahead for macungie as having lows in the teens, and it keeps getting pushed back. speculation may lead to joy or heartbreak. el nino is a bastard, and if he wants us to not ride bear he has that power.
-
today was definately fun, i was up for morning/ a little into the afternoon. falls was fun. highlight would be finding an older gentleman laying on the bottom part of lazy mile. took me and this other dude a good solid 5 minuits to help him up. it felt good to do a good deed.other then that it was pretty uneventful. that wierd box on come around was fun too i guess sort of?

check the webcams, they are going all out. tonight and tomorow night should get decent snow made to keep some cover until the next snowmaking window on monday.
