Boarder1x9 Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 last night the conditions were pretty beat Quote
Tyler Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 the conditions today were excellent, great snow. landings started to get beat as usual, especially the ledge, but otherwise a very nice day. Quote
Mixilplix Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 Overall riding conditiond were good, but the park in thelate morning/afternoon was beat.I never saw the park crew do anything about it. Quote
nick Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 the lips to EVERYTHING are TERRRRRIBLE. No offense but somebody needs to teach park crew how to make a good lip. Half of them are not centered on the rail, the rest are too high, frankly its a little ridiculous. I understand if there a rut or 2 but the shapes that the lips have been in since opening day is just absurd. It really makes me mad when i could build a better lip by hand. The rail selection out right now is good but the lip building technique needs to see some great improvement.... Quote
skeer_tomas Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 Some of the stuff hasn't been maintained to par I agree, but most of the guys on park crew this year are new. For the most part they've been taught what to do but they just need to get some practice of how to maintain things and procedures to be taken. Believe it or not but there is a lot of technical stuff for them to know and that knowledge is only as good as the on-snow experience they have. We've only been open for a week and half a day so they don't have much yet. Give us a minute and we'll get all the nOObs whipped into shape, get some snow on the ground, and we can build more than a few little jumps with rails after them haha. Quote
Rowsdower Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 The park gets boring after an hour or two. 6 hits and none of them are anything special or amazing. It gets repetitive after a while. Quote

Wouldn't this be a good time for them to get experience? It's not that crowded yet so I would think this would be a great time for on snow training for them. I saw a couple of them riding today, yet the park was in sad shape. Quote
k2rider2690 Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 yeh i agree i see them riding way too much, i understand that the snow conditions have not been very well, especially the granular stuff that you cant do shit with, but i mean close it down fix it and throw some salt on it and let it set for 15min and it will be all good again. i do it at my house all the time. no matter how shitty the snow is it will always melt. plus shouldnt the people on park crew have experience or at least know how to fix stuff? i didnt think that they were hired not knowing how to maintain anything... Quote
dolfman261 Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 totally agree with the salt idea. At least rake the granular stuff away... Quote
skeer_tomas Posted December 17, 2007 Report Posted December 17, 2007 When everyone is seeing park crew just riding theres probably a 70% chance they aren't even on the clock. I'm usually up there everyday either working or just riding and a lot of the other guys do the same. You guys are right though, this time in the beginning of the season when its relatively slow is the best time to learn everything. With only a handful of "veterans" that came back, we're spread kind of thin. Trust me though, you all will see major improvements shortly. Quote

k2rider2690 Posted December 17, 2007 Report Posted December 17, 2007 exactly...i mean dont get me wrong bears park crew has been doing a good job with what they have had to work with but there is always room for improvement Quote
Tyler Posted December 17, 2007 Report Posted December 17, 2007 park was nice today, very slow, but nice. oh and there is a new jump at the bottom where the flat red rail was. its a small step up but its fun. Quote
burton71 Posted December 17, 2007 Report Posted December 17, 2007 Posting from my phone in the bar...conditions are good, park is in good shape, jump at the bottom is small but a lot of fun. Head on up if you are thinking about it. Quote
mollyskeez Posted December 17, 2007 Report Posted December 17, 2007 the conditions were great today the rails are getting kinda burried but it didnt matter. the jump at the bottom was really hard to get speed for with the wind and slow snow but it was fun. Quote
snowboarddude Posted December 18, 2007 Report Posted December 18, 2007 the jump was hard to get speed for but besides that the rails were perfect i liked how they were getting dug in more thye were alot easier to try new stuff on Quote
skeer_tomas Posted December 18, 2007 Report Posted December 18, 2007 The newly blown snow is perfect right now. 4 of us were out this morning shaping and cutting before 9 so everything looks pretty for you guys haha. As soon as I go back out I'm gonna start diggin the lil' stairs. LATER! Quote
burton71 Posted December 18, 2007 Report Posted December 18, 2007 Sounds sick, I'll be up later assuming I don't get stuck at work. Quote
mollyskeez Posted December 18, 2007 Report Posted December 18, 2007 yep im headin' up in a little while. Quote
Mixilplix Posted December 19, 2007 Report Posted December 19, 2007 The added covrage is nice.Great conditions all a round with just a couple of icy spots alomg the sides. Quote
burton71 Posted December 19, 2007 Report Posted December 19, 2007 Good conditions last night. All the features were in good shape. Park crew came out just as they started to get a little beat up. The step down was epic last night, lot more people getting to the end of it now. Quote
snowboarddude Posted December 19, 2007 Report Posted December 19, 2007 i think bear needs to put rails/jumps in cascade and leave the mid park how it is Quote
