stbgskibum247 Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 Little mofos taking the bamboo!! I'm pretty much positive that Andy is cutting all the lips tonight. When I was setting up this morning I tried to start cutting the lips on cascade so they had a little pop, but the snow was all full of chunky crap ice balls. Hopefully he'll be able to get a nice tilled finish on them for tomorow morning. Quote
nick Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 Well everybody say bye to the crik's decent coverage and say hello to bare spots and 55 degree weather. It was staring already today...... Quote
snowboarddude Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 cascade was looked to be built better today... sadly i didn't get to ride it (itc) Quote
Mixilplix Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 Yo Zep...you goin for instructor or Jr instructor? Quote
JibHonk Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 until next season me and zep are both junior instructors but its cool we only have to work one day for 5 hours Quote
Another Wall Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 Props to BC tonight, had a real fun time... despite the warm conditions things were set up really nice. only complaint is that park crew didnt really get around to cascade all that much to fix up the lips in the jump line, but they were still fun. the flat box with teh big gap to it in cascade is soooo fun. the jump in the tubing park is real fun but the head wall before it should be a little mellower cause you tend to shoot off it but other than that great job. snowboarddude Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 good thing bear still has the snow in piles and i'm a jr instructor one thing i noticed was that bears pond wasn't very deep maybe 10 ft Quote
burton71 Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 Setup yesterday was sick. There are some really good flow lines in both parks. Quote
GNU_rider Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 anyone riding today or ride yesterday because I think I'm heading up tomorrow if it's worth it any opinions? Quote
k2rider2690 Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 set up was good last night, everyone was maintained pretty well except the jumps in tubing, they were rutted to shit. there was really no possible way to spin off of them cuz when you would try and get your begining turn off the jump you would ride across the giant rut. the last jump in black bear (the first jump of the year) was maintained way better than the expert park. that jump and the giant one in big hit were the only ones you could really spin off of without having to worry about hitting a rut Quote
AngryHugo Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 From looking at the webcams, it looks like they fixed a bunch of the bare spots. Can anyone confirm this? Quote
snowboarddude Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 well bear made it... it is officialy 1 month of them being open Quote
JibHonk Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 (edited) uh oh the shit spots are coming back i can see them!!! everyone rehearse the following snow spell nightly to the snow gods/godesses....if you know of any virgins sacrificing them cant hurt Let it snow!! AngryHugo Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 I'm still crossing my fingers for a Star Trek transporter type-of-thing. From checking the webcams, the conditions don't look too horrible. There are a few bare spots, but no big deal. Quote
boarder423 Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 conditions werent too bad in the morning, enough snow to cover rails and boxes, but snow melted quick and by noon it was gettin too sticky, if u go, go for opening Quote
