skimom Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 It's been raining down here, nonstop, but I'm wondering if the Poconos are getting the snow we are hoping for. Racechick, 999? ?? Anyone? Does it look hopeful? It would be ideal to have rain in Phili and snow North of Allentown. That would keep the Phili skiers thinking of other things, while optimizing our snow. Quote
skigurl Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 well we are off today..and everyone is still trying to figure out why. it was sleeting early this morning. if it starts to snow i'll let everyone know Quote
Ski Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 (edited) The sleet to snow line is Rt. 84. Our schools are closed. We have two inches and it's snowing lightly. They are calling for heavy snow tonight with 8-14 inches total. Tanglwood and, hopefully, Montage should get this pretty good. Edited January 5, 2005 by ski999 Quote
skimom Posted January 5, 2005 Author Report Posted January 5, 2005 well we are off today..and everyone is still trying to figure out why. No doubt it's a gift from the snow gods. Quote
skigurl Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 we are now getting snow and sleet at the same time, the roads are getting the ice and everything else is getting snow. Quote
Schif Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 We've got a pretty steady snowfall here, no sleet or rain in sight. Quote
soldier32 Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 im in effort, which is about 10 minutes south of blakeslee (not on the plateau though) and its kind of a mix here and the temperature is slowly dropping Quote

messr2006 Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 holy crap the skiing is going to suck Quote
AtomicSkier Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 holy crap the skiing is going to suck unless you are being sarcastic, i don't understand why? It's getting cooler as we speak, that'll be snow by the time it hits ski resorts around here Quote
Ski Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 Montage just got an inch or two from the first round. Except for Smoke, the diamonds are ungroomed masses of uneven moguls...kind of interesting on race skis. Some guys were building an enormous jump on Cannonball and the landing was looked like it was in the middle of a bump run. Quote
skigurl Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 it's snowing and sticking and snowing and sticking... Quote
skimom Posted January 5, 2005 Author Report Posted January 5, 2005 it's snowing and sticking and snowing and sticking... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Good work, RC. Just what we like to hear. I just looked the CB webcam, and couldn't tell what it is doing. But, if it's snow in Chickville, it must be snowing at CB. Quote
skigurl Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 its icing the roads and making snow on like grass and stuff, it's a heavy wet snow, but it's enough to close school so it's all good, not ideal skiing weather but hey it's a start Quote
Glenn Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 (edited) Just got back from CB. I was there all day, just rode the greens though (with a female ). Anyways, it was snowing all day, and what started out as horribly icey conditions got covered by beautiful powder by the end. Should be real nice tommorow for anyone who can get out there.
