AtomicSkier
he is in the wyoming valley that is in luzerne county. ahhhh, that would make sense...cause when people refer to the valley around here, they mean the lehigh valley

Sticking to everything at this point <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Â Small flakes are good. Large flakes indicate the start or end of a storm (so I've been told). skidude
Larger flakes mean wetter snow (so most of the time before snow changes over to rain, or right after it changes from rain. Â Out in Utah...All the flakes are nice and dry and small....So small is good
skigurl
*update* 10:42 pm Wednesday January 5, 2005 turning to a sleeting snow, still acculumating, i think it's like 2 parts snow 1 part sleet but not totaly sure. skimom
I've got 2.75 inches of fresh powder in my yard and it doesn't seem to want to stop coming down!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Â lol, 2.75...I love it.
insomniac
It looks like the rain/freezing rain/sleet killed alot of the snow. Something wet did anyways.
skigurl
*update* 9:44 AM Thursday January 6, 2005 The snow has settled and in my three tests spots only measures about 1 1/4 inch of snow. Covering all of the snow is about 1/2 of ice. thus we have a snow day today.

Happy snow day...
Ski
Five inches of snow topped by 1/2 inch of ice. It makes snowballs that are lethal.
Glenn
Yeah, I decided not to go into work today because the roads were blah. Plus the 1/2 inch of ice covering my car didn't look like it would be too much fun to clean off. I was hoping up in the poconos they wouldn't have had the same icey fate, but it seems the snow gods are just playing with us right now. lurker
Its sort of a depressing January so far, hasn't it been? Wednesday night was the best skiing in a while, before it turned to ice of course.
Schif
It was really depressing to have to clean off the cars and shovel the snow in the rain today. The rain took my snow from its original 2.75 inches all the way down to 2.0625 inches.

Ski
I just did a quick 10 runs at Montage and the snow is as thick and heavy as it gets. BUT it really helped the base. Grass is gone and some of the stones are burried a little deeper. What a pain in the butt shoveling this crap...
skigurl
well lets see, i have had no power for about 24 hrs....totaly not cool, this ice sucks, sry to stop putting up updates but i have not been able to get online. Margaritaville Skier
No power or showers, sounds like Margaritaville this past summer during hurricane season. That does rot Racerchick. At least we could jump in the pool.
skigurl
it was horrible, i mean yeah you guys prolly had it worse but for us we for the most part never loose power up here like we did the past couple days. i felt extremly bad for those who only had electic heating supplies. thank god we have a coal stove and a gas fire place. we had to melt snow to get water to like flush the toilet and stuff. but the wosre had(and still is a threat) watching the icing trees fall. we've got like 10 houses by us i think that have trees on them. and then the trees falling on the power lines with the ice is just making things soo much better. we went out to eat tonight and two groups of 20 electic companies were getting the first meal sence the power had gone out yesterday morning. Ski
Wow, I just got back from going to a game south of you, RacerChick...Rt. 380 and 80 were pretty cool with all the icy trees hanging over the edge of the roads. Cars and trucks had sheared them off. The army depot in Tobyhanna was lit up and looked like the whole place was made of glass. Losing power sucks. We're on a bad grid and lose it 1/2 dozen times every summer. Seems like every electrical storm. My folks are near Margaritaville and just lived in their swimming pool when they lost power from the hurricanes.
