skidude Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 Well here is one killer hill. Just found the camera these pics where on, so I figured I would post em... The mountain...errr hill...errr bump.. There is a little perspective with this picture...Look at how tall the silo is to the mountain... And the mad skate to the finish. Hey Ski999 do you know who this is? I will give you a hit, he races as a master (or is it senior, and a few years ago was doing Nastar/Asra races but is now racing USSA.) I don't think you know him, but just checking. He skis so old school, its great to watch And the cheapest gas I have seen in a while... Quote
AtomicSkier Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 Nice pics skidude, lookin good! Btw, thats a nice ski area. I think my backyard has more vertical Quote
Glenn Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 That hill makes me laugh. As much as I rag on CB they HAVE to be better than that mountain. Quote

Could you at least shake it and knock everyone off speeding up the lift? Quote
skidude Posted January 7, 2005 Author Report Posted January 7, 2005 No, it was only racers...and they all have ballence enough to stay on. Litterly there was no one there but racers and maybe like 2 other people on a different slope...They probably make 80% of there income from SL races. Quote

Is there a lodge, anything besides gates? Is the silo the ticket window hehe. Quote

skifreak Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 Oh well if they have more than two trails then its not willowbrook. Quote
skidude Posted January 7, 2005 Author Report Posted January 7, 2005 Its brantling...Hence the title of the topic :duhhhhhh Quote
poconoceancity Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 where is it located and has anyone ever got hit by a car at the base of the hill? Quote
Ski Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 He went of a few racers in front of you? Nick? Quote
skidude Posted January 7, 2005 Author Report Posted January 7, 2005 Not nick...If my memory serves me he was 2 infrount of me (bib 119). It is in the fingerlakes region on NY....No one has gotten hit by a car, but last season it was snowing before the race and there is a road ontop of the mountain, right by the start (whihc you actully have to hike up about 20 vertical feet to get to from the top of the jbar)....Anyway all the J1/2 girls were standing up there, and a plow goes by...And covers them all in a this black (from the road) snow, and all you can hear is a big AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH from the top of the course...It was GREAT to see. skifreak Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 Its brantling...Hence the title of the topic :duhhhhhh <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well I never heard of the place befroe Quote
Ski Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 It's 240 vert on Lake Ontario in NY. The only reason anyone has heard of it outside of Rochester is if they are racers chasing early season points. Pennsylvania/NJ kids go up because there are some really good racers from NY that---if you can get your time close to theirs---improve your start number when you come back home. Nice shots of the course, 'Dude. Getting psyched about Sunday's SL? Quote
skimom Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 An Olympic champion started out at Brantling - and in keeping with it's historical race tradition, Brantling has a great SL program. They hold SL races that a lot of top racers participate in, so the points are always good. It takes a lot for me NOT to ski, and this was the only day I decided not to - The entire hill was taken up by the race, and I couldn't find room to take runs. So the dude had to pick up his own jacket and I amused myself by taking photos. Quote
