Glenn Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 So I was talking to my friend who was at CB for a few hours today. He said the conditions were horrible. I asked if it was granular like the website said. He said "There are a few spots that are granular, most is just uneven ice" HAH. That on top of the ice storm would tell you not to go to the mountian, but I couldnt sleep last night because I hadn't ridden, so I'm heading out into the ice hehe. Just wanted to know if they other mountains are in as bad shape, or if anyone is even braving the weather. Oh, forgot to add, apparently CB isn't running the quads because of the ice. It's funny because on their website they said they had nile open... How is that possible Quote
skigurl Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 the quads maybe shut down due to the power problem we have been having, not positive but it was on off all day yesterday then off for a good 24 hrs and now it's back to being on off Quote
skierboi Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 (edited) I heard that they are suppose to get anouther .25-.5 inches of ice tonite and tomorrow Edited January 8, 2005 by skierboi Quote
skigurl Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 yes this is true...but hopefully it will not come true, i dont' think i can take anymore ice... Quote
skierboi Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 hopefully It is snow instead of ice Quote
skifreak Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 Yeah right now it looks like the most sever icing will occur down toward where I live near Allentown and not as bad in the Poconos but it will affect the southern poconos. Quote
Glenn Posted January 8, 2005 Author Report Posted January 8, 2005 Just got back from CB. It was pretty bad. Crowds were insane because of the ski clubs. They only had doubles open, they closed the park. Just a lousy day. Julius Ceasar was empty, so I could make some laid back turns on it which I can never do because its ALWAYS crowded, but besides that the day was a waste. At one point I was actually contemplating riding sunbowl because the lift line wasn't as bad. Saw lineski, or rather he saw my brother, then met up with us. He saw me take a REALLY haggard run down marjies. It was pretty much a sheet of ice on the left (which is my prefered side), the right looked a little better, but not great. Kinda weird because rocket was at least nasty granular, so you could hold an edge much easier. Oh well, my bro bombed down it, and did fine. Better luck tommorow. It's my last day before I head back to school. Quote

They also rarely give days off, and I doubt they will do it on the first day of the semester. I move back into the dorm on sunday though. If I'm bored, or get moved in early I may take a trip to CB sunday night, but I will probobly just chill with my friends, since I haven't seen them in a few weeks. Quote
