moe ghoul Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 Sunday River was a blast. We left at 2PM Friday in the pouring rain as Camelback was shutting down and the PokaNose were goin slushy. After a brutal 12 hour drive thru NJ and NYC traffic the bus got stuck at the base of the Grand Summit Hotel's driveway and a frontloader had to tow us up the hill. The good news was we had fresh pow for Saturday. Saturday was fresh trax central, but most of the lifts were closed due to high winds until about 1PM. That didn't stop us from shredding up some great runs and got us warmed up for more open runs in the afternoon. Snow conditions were sweet, and we had a blast crossing over the mountain to the various peaks, usually blowing off lunch since we loaded up at the breakfast buffet in the AM. Apres ski took us into the heated outdoor pool and hot tub and then off to dinner. Superbowl Sunday nite was spent at the Phoenix, where all of 5 giants fans were dancing on the Pats grave and the whole joint went silent. I took the giants with the points which paid for my trip. BONUS! We got about 3 inches of fresh pow on Sunday nite, which made for a sunny and mild ski day on Monday, took in a mogul clinic, because we never stop learning and improving, and finished off the day ripping up White Heat and Obsession, with a coupla runs thru the woods for some thrills. Woke up Tuesday AM to 5 inches of fresh, and only 2 of 5 of our group made it out. Annie and I carved out some trax on White Cap and Barker, then had to head back for checkout and packing the bus. It was still snowing when we shoved off at 1PM. All in all, Sunday River is pretty cush, ski in/ski out, valet ski check at the door, and an elevator ride to the rooms. Folks are super friendly, decent restaurants and bars, I don't think the town of Bethel has much to offer and its about a 20 minute shuttle ride to town. We spent the whole time on the mountain, there's plenty to do. I started to post a few pix, but apparently ran out of space to post more. I got a bunch of shots on my Palm, but haven't figured out how to access those images for uploads to the site. Quote

moe ghoul Posted February 6, 2008 Author Report Posted February 6, 2008 King of Prussia Ski Club. I posted 4 pics, the bulk of my shots are on the palm Treo, and I can't figure out how to upload an emailed pic to the PASR site. Plus I'm outta disc space, do I create another album or post pics to a community gallery? Computers still frighten and confuse me when I venture beyond my limitations. Quote
