putbadstuffhere13 Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 hi mates. i was wondering how this mountain was for skiing/snowboarding for beginners/intermediates. is it worth going to? thank you kindly in advance. Quote
Justin Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 For beginners, I'd say its great. Any more than that drive farther north. The runs are super tiny and the lifts are real slow, so if thats what you're into, go for it. But if you're a beginner every mountain is basically the same thing to you anyway. Quote

I wouldn't call it a mountain.. ...Its a very small hill. If you are a beginner/intermediate, then its probably a good hill for it. The thing with Spring Mountain, its very old fashioned, with very small lifts, and an old cafeteria. If you want to travel 30 extra minutes to a slightly bigger mountain, then go to Bear Creek. It offers more terrain, and has better lifts, better cafeteria, better service. But its up to you. Both are good for beginners/intermediates. Quote
snowboarddude Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 (edited) i have never been to spring mt but i know it is by bear creek and isn't that much farther of a drive bear is going to be packed this weekend Edited February 12, 2008 by Mini Zep Quote
kragan Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 Spring is great! It is where I taught myself to snowboard a few seasons ago. Its not worth much beyond that though. Quote
RidgeRacer Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 I was there once a few years ago. If you're a beginner and live in or near Philly then i would say it's perfect. Quote
putbadstuffhere13 Posted February 13, 2008 Author Report Posted February 13, 2008 hey mates. thanks for the replies. i ended up checking it out. it was a bit smaller than i envisioned but not bad at all. i'm too novice to start with terrain stuff so i ended up on that one long trail right near the bunny slope. as you gentlemen and ladies have mentioned, a good place to learn but not too much beyond that. there were a whole slew of kids there, but they were pretty much all doing tricks in the terrain park... so i'm guessing when i start learning those tricks, i'll have more reason to frequent spring. thanks again!
