TheNorthFace Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 Hey guys, I've been monitoring the weather and Camelback's website and my question is why hasn't there been any snow making? Looking 5 days ahead, the highest temperature is going to be 37 degrees on Sunday in Tannersville PA. In the evening, tonight is going to be the coldest at 8 degrees and with the horrible rain we got on Monday, I'm sure Camelback is crying for some snow making. March is just right around the corner and I think this might be the opportune moment to make some snow to be opened as long as possible. Also, accuweather.com says we're getting some snow Friday approximately 1-3 inches of snow. Quote
poconoceancity Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 CB does not make snow after Presidents Day... Quote
TheNorthFace Posted February 20, 2008 Author Report Posted February 20, 2008 Oh, I did not know that. Well, that's dumb that they don't. I went there Saturday morning and the conditions were great, until by 4:30 when I left, all the snow was pushed around and the bare ice was exposed and this was on a majority of the trails. Quote
Schif Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 Just be glad they didn't bring the snow melters out yet. Quote

They are showing Laurel Glade is closed today for snowmaking as well. Thr Rocket is listed as "ungroomed" today so they had to have made snow on it. Quote

TheNorthFace Posted February 21, 2008 Author Report Posted February 21, 2008 You guys are right, I checked Camelback's website just now and they said they've been blowing snow since Monday. I'm glad they are really pulling through with continuous snow making and I'm really pumped to go this weekend with the big snow storm coming our way. Enjoy the snow everyone and be safe this weekend. TheNorthFace Posted February 22, 2008 Author Report Posted February 22, 2008 big snow storm?try maybe 2 inches... 3 at the most What happened to the 25 + inches back in 90's? accuweather.com says Tannersville is getting a total of 5.8 inches until Saturday morning. See for yourself.. http://www.accuweather.com/forecast.asp?pa...72&metric=0 If Camelback gets that amount of snow tomorrow, it's going to be a miracle since I haven't seen 6 inches of snow fall at all this year. We're buckling down to the last few weeks of winter, it's definitely a nice sight to see snow fall heading our way. Either way, any snow storm would be considered big in my book with the warming of the globe that's been going on. Quote
