Uhh.. Wrong. Us Open.. In VT

NO DOUBT the US Open at Stratton is the biggest event on the East Coast.

I'll never forget the year that the "Wu Tang Clan" was walking through the crowds trying to sell the free gear that Burton gave them for performing.

Unfortunately, it's on Easter weekend this year and you'd have to duck out on your family to go.

Can't do that to grandma,

so I don't think I'm going to make it this year. :(

Yea and the Chevy Grand Prix is 2nd biggest, so this is 3rd at best. Considering this is the QUALIFIER for the other event, I don't think that is debatable.

So if it's all the way down the list in third, do you guys have a shot? ;)

with a 10g purse split between 6 events.. I'd say the prizes are probably smaller then that of the buckmans jam...

So, how about a park report ???

Specifically, I'd like to get all the details on the jumps that Sno currently has.

(tabletops, step down/up, lips, landings, size, etc)

I'd really appreciate some impartial reports because I'm hearing a lot of negative about the parks,

specifically the jumps.

Thanks.

I was up last night and I just ask that you take everything with a grain of salt b/c I am not the most knowledgeable about all things park.....

1.The park passes really make a difference. It has really cut down the number of people who shouldn't be there. Pretty much if you saw someone in the park they were going to throw something decent. (with some gaperific exceptions).

2. Mainline park -- this is a non-park pass park and it is mainly beginner rails and boxes. There is a jump in the middle which isn't very big and then a jump at the end before the 13' half pipe. The jump at the end is looking pretty rough right now. But, it would be good to people learning.

3. Terrain park on spike. This one is pretty good. There is one big jump right off the bat. I saw someone throw what looked to be a 720 off it. So that should give you an idea of the size. I can't remember if there are other jumps (i think 1 more maybe) There are then some rails ect. set up including the staircase.

4. I also don't know what they are building on upper runway I

Which event would you rather win?

Ah, so that's what all the snowmaking was for...we couldn't figure out why UR was closed during a holiday weekend, yet they were piling up snow.

Those guys don't ride, eh?

Doug, aren't those the guys I shot you with for your myspace page?

Honestly, neither. None of them really interest me enough to enter.

Only comps that would interest me enough to enter is the Freeride comps, like the US Freeskiing tour. Which have very small, if any prizes.
