pyro_boarder Posted January 13, 2005 Report Posted January 13, 2005 So I've been trying to do 270's off the box at CB but I can't seem to get the spin around all the way. I Know we have some good riders on here and I would like any tips on how to do 270's off a box or rail (or on to one). I would appricate your help. I snowboard but if any one has tips for skiers I shure someone would benifit from it. Thanks. Quote
The_Public_Enemy Posted January 13, 2005 Report Posted January 13, 2005 I actually find 270's on easier than 270's off. If you can't do them yet, I'd start working on them. Just make sure you spot your landing during the whole spin (Landing blind is near suicide) and punch through the spin with your hip (As lurker would call it: "Hip Explosion"). Quote
soldier32 Posted January 13, 2005 Report Posted January 13, 2005 yea just bend your knees when your on the box/rail and wait until you get to the end. pop off as decent as you can and get the spin around. i find 270s on a little easier than 270s off myself also. if youre going to try them on, the first few times carve a lot into them that way you dont have to spin as much, it makes it a little easier to get used to doing them Quote
Glenn Posted January 14, 2005 Report Posted January 14, 2005 Should we be able to 360 before attempting to 270? I assume so, since most 360's will be off jumps with much better air time to allow more rotation, and therefore easier to get the concept of spinning down. Just wondering though. Quote
pyro_boarder Posted January 14, 2005 Author Report Posted January 14, 2005 That was my thought too but the other day the snow was loose ice particals and I kept getting stuck. I would think that once you could do a 360 it waould make 270s easier. Sience you already know you can do the spin. Quote
soldier32 Posted January 14, 2005 Report Posted January 14, 2005 yea its probably better to learn 360s before 270s. thats what i did, i never even thought of 270s before i could 360 Quote
nick malozzi Posted January 17, 2005 Report Posted January 17, 2005 keep knees bent, explode with your legs at end of box, lead with your head, allow your shoulders to follow your head, and then get the last of the spin out with your hips and feet. Quote
xkinkrider03x Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 yean me neither..but if i were you..when your on the rail..start turning your body near the end..just your body..so your board follows through with your body right away. then theres less hucking involved..don't just jump off and try to 270..cuz its harder that way.. i find 270 off and on equally as easy. there not hard..you just gotta learn to spin fast..especially at cb..considering theres no drops on the end. librider Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 when i 270 on i kind of butter off the jump and pop and once i get past teh 180 i just spot and try to land flat as possiable. Quote
Nipples Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 360 befor 270 maybe 540 to. But I just think this side to that side.Lean with your head alot. But I'am a skier. Quote
Papasteeze Posted March 19, 2005 Report Posted March 19, 2005 Hey steeze it looks like your up to a pizza wedge!! When are you going to start making some turns!! I think steeze told me that it is easier to learn a switch 270 on, because you can watch the rail the whole time. I think it is also easier to 270 off when you have 270'd on because you are already in a rotation. When on a box... I don't watch when he 270's onto a rail.. Scary!! Quote
Gurp Posted March 19, 2005 Report Posted March 19, 2005 its only scary when the rail it nut height. Most of the time if someone does a 270 onto a box that tweek into a switch 50-50 and only do a 180 out, which isnt a true 270 out. Quote
