BCBSNOBBSkier Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 I was looking at sno mountain's website and saw that Smoke is now just a black. does anyone else find this weird. Smoke has always seemed harder. I also noticed that there are no plans for a new lift. I thought a new lift was on the way? Quote
Ski Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 Well Smoke is easier than White Lightning which is a Double Diamond so it seems right.. x2. Quote
fleaguy Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 I think since there is never a liftline...a high-speed quad may be down the list a bit. It's one of those things that would be nice to have....but we don't need it right now. That's just my opinion. RESPECT Quote
BCBSNOBBSkier Posted March 1, 2008 Author Report Posted March 1, 2008 well Boomer is certainly easier than Smoke but Boomer is a Double and smoke is not. Quote
Ski Posted March 1, 2008 Report Posted March 1, 2008 well Boomer is certainly easier than Smoke but Boomer is a Double and smoke is not. There isn't really anything scientific about trail ratings in America. You could make the case that Boomer has a longer sustained headwall, so it's more daunting to a skier/rider. My 7 yr old loves Boomer, but thinks Smoke is easier if it's bumped up. The main slope at our ski hill in The Hideout is rated as a black diamond...it's a little over 100' vert. Quote
BCBSNOBBSkier Posted March 1, 2008 Author Report Posted March 1, 2008 I guess youre right. It's totally up to the ski patrollers. I would like to see a high speed lift theres still since it would draw crowds and once the crowds got there it would move people up the mountain faste. I think it would pay for itself very quickly Quote
Ski Posted March 1, 2008 Report Posted March 1, 2008 (edited) I guess youre right. It's totally up to the ski patrollers. I think it would pay for itself very quickly That's sure an interesting way to look at it...so more ticket sales, then have them all over to the east side (Runaway/Fastrack) to enjoy the new toy, which creates a win/win situation? You might be as smart as Method Edited March 1, 2008 by ski Quote
