RidgeRacer Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 (edited) They were a brand name of multi colored shorts that were popular in the late 80's / early 90's Didn't they have those flowery designs too? I think I had jams. Edited March 5, 2008 by PA Ridge Racer Quote
toast21602 Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 Blue is open today with all trails and a 35-60 inch base..one heavy rain storm does not melt away an entire season of base... the storm is almost over and once it is, i think i might head up with my camera just to check out the aftermath that it left. Ski Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 It's snowing with enormous flakes and there's thunder rumbling. Quote
Melissa Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 It's snowing with enormous flakes and there's thunder rumbling. Ah, you got snow??? So jealous. It's just raining in Scranton. This sucks. Quote
Ski Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 Ah, you got snow??? So jealous. It's just raining in Scranton. This sucks. Well, it only switched about an hour ago, right around the time the thunder and lightning started. It'll switch back, but I bet Tobyhanna has an inch or two. Quote
n0xidee Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 According to my gf Denver got 3 inches of fresh light powda, with up to two more coming throughout the day and chances of more tonight and tomorrow morning Quote
Johnny Law Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 I honestly don't see how anybody will pull through this with good conditions. Some places will more than likely be closed down. This is just way to much rain and too heavy. I hope I am wrong, though. I am seriously worried about flooding. Even Bear will make it through this...stay positive. Quote
toast21602 Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 Totally...I'm not afraid of the big bad rain..there's alot of ski season left..and up north it's stayed mostly frozen precipitation...Holla what time are you going up doug? i think i'll be there around 2:30ish. Quote
sexkitten Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 One heavy rain storm does not melt away an entire season of base... Unless you're Bear Creek. Sorry BC, I had to. Even Bear will make it through this...stay positive. You'll have to be more than positive to save BC. They never do well once the warm, wet weather hits. Quote

They never do well once the warm, wet weather hits. funny thing is... last night, 3 miles from Bear Creek the temp was 55. i got home, 5 miles from Blue, the temp was 37. thats a HUGE difference. i guess Blue was on the tail end of the storm front and got the cold air to move through and Bear wasnt able to. n0xidee Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 It was 66 here yesterday. It's now in the low 50's. WTF is up with the weather Quote
bigdaddyk Posted March 5, 2008 Author Report Posted March 5, 2008 .. Am I the only one who thinks BigDaddyK is a huge pessimist??? The people who are now being flooded probably don't. Quote
NJSkiFamily Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 No doubt yesterday's rain was depressing and now I'm seeing buds on the trees and green growth appearing on the bushes. What's all this about a potential nor-easter this weekend? Will it be rain or snow for the slopes? Quote
moe ghoul Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 We are in the blackhole of snow events, everyone else is getting boatloads this year. Quote
