I was google-ing snowboard binding reviews today and I stumbled on a new Snowboard club that's based out of Philadelphia.

They already have a Stratton, VT trip set up for the US Open (3/21-3/23) and will be doing local PA mountain day trips for the rest of the season.

 

They are meeting TODAY 2/4/08 at the Manayunk Brewery Restaurant and Pub .

I will be there by 8pm and will probably be hanging out with other friends in Manayunk for the rest of the night.

I hope a few PASR's can come out to represent and check out what the club has to offer and what the members are like.

Well since it is Snowboard only who wants to start a philly ski club with me?!?! We can all carpool to Shawnee for a weekend trip. We will all stay in one hotel room, that way is mad cheap. I'll bring the candy.

I live 5 minutes from there. Join KOP ski club, they got something going on all the time tripwise, daytrips to the pokes, out west, Whistler, J-hole, Killington, etc, and no kids is a bonus. They also have bunch of other sub groups that have shared interests, like cycling, mountain biking, etc. Membership is $30 for singles and $45 for couples. The club could use some young blood. Just a suggestion. There's also the Wissahickon Ski Club on Barren Hill Road. But they are small, and I don't know if they are looking to add membership. They asked me to join, but I had already signed up with KOP. They actually have a small ski slope with a T-bar lift and lodge. I bought the 3 acres next to them about 6 years ago. I posted a pic of the clubhouse in my album.

I skied there once last year after the mega dump in March. No snowmaking, it's a co-op, so that would be pretty pricey.

But they have lites for nite skiing ;) . They actually have 2 runs, one they use for daylite, the other for nite. You can't see it in the pics. There's a tree line along the lift and the "day slope" is on the other side.Kids use my hill for sledding.

Its funny cause if you look on the title and all the paper work, not one of my family members names are on it. I guess we stole it. Or it is a company car and since I am part owner of the company I do actually own it. Owned

I believe it was in 2004 that Killington was fed up with paying too much in taxes and tried to secede from Vermont and become part of New Hampshire. Hasn't happened, yet.
