mr.couloir Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 Quick report - Camelback is making snow on Marjie's and Rocket. I heard that other trails tonight will get snow. It would appear that the slopes didn't need a touch up, but I will take snow in March (either natural or man made). Quote
pyro_boarder Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 Thats awesome. I'll be heading up in a bit, hopefully the rain didn't do too much damage. Quote

toast21602 Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 I heard that the new owner humped the camel..... any truth to that? that was Doug... anyway... yay for making snow. Quote
phillycore Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 Sorry.... I just knew I had heard that someone humped the camel Quote
NJSkiFamily Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 Well you guys better be seated, ready.....good.....yes, CB's web site says they are making snow. Unbelievable. Have they ever made snow in March before? I thought they usually start carting off the snowmaking equipment right after President's Day. Quote
Ski Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 Only if the Camel was under age 15...and male.. Camels generally live to about 40 years, making it a 2 to 1 age ratio, as opposed to the typical 7 to 1 ratio for dogs and humans. So your math is wrong, Doug. I'm just sayin'... Funny, if you Google Image "Camelback Ski Area", Ridge's picture is still on page one (from Dranow's) site. Google Quote

Google They were indeed making snow today and the people in the office ( i was there to pick up my $99.00 March Pass) said they are determined to stay open until the end of March. Here's to hoping. Glenn Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 So Total Noob (BTW you need to change your name) what did you think of your season at shawnee and did you travel elsewhere much? Quote
BurtonGirl Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 I rode a little yesterday and they were blowing and had some of the runs closed so the snow would actually stay. lets stay open through my spring break next week so I can get in all the riding I missed all year.. thanks. Quote
darklordofsys Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 So Total Noob (BTW you need to change your name) what did you think of your season at shawnee and did you travel elsewhere much? Yea I will need to change my name...so far i've had 36 days on the snow this year. Shawnee was good, however both my wife and I agree that we need something with more terrain next year. I spent most of the season at Shawnee with the occaisional jaunt to Camelback and Sno. I also hit Copper (Colorado), Stratton (Company Ski Trip), and Northstar at Tahoe. Definitely a whirlwind season. It's amazing how much I've learned. I could barely stay up on the board at the beginning of the season and now both my wife and I are riding rails and hitting small kickers. It's sad to see the season starting to end. Quote
mbike-ski Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 (edited) wow thats awesome!! edit: on both counts, total not so noob and cb blowin! Edited March 12, 2008 by mbike-ski Quote
JollyJake99 Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 Was I the only one to notice that the snow blown on March 9 on Rocket, Margie's & Upper Cleo proceeded to produce the best conditions for the remainder of the season? When they closed the East Side, those three were the place to be! Quote
