jordan Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 as per the website, seems a little early to me, even blue ridge generally kept JF open till the last weekend in march... BB going to weekends only after the 23rd as well Quote
askier87 Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 (edited) Well, that doesn't hurt my feelings since I sprained my ankle bad and am pretty much done for the rest of the season anyway. At least I used my season pass alot. Edited March 17, 2008 by askier87 Quote
RidgeRacer Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 I just saw that...kinda knew it was coming but still kinda bummed to see it official on the site. Quote
TT C6 Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 I was told by guest services at Big Boulder today that BB will be open weekends for at least two weeks after the March 23 and reopen for the May 3rd rail jam. BB is going to try to remain open for weeknights for at least the next 2 weeks as well. I look forward to seeing GSS at BB. Make sure you say Hi. Quote

Eh, so BB is announcing on their website that they are only open weekends 10-6pm and NOT during the week after the 23rd, but you're saying that's just to keep the crowds down? They are secretly remaining open weeknights? That's weird. Doug, what do you think about this odd situation uncovered by TT? Quote
bigdaddyk Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 (edited) Doug, what do you think about this odd situation uncovered by TT? Play nice. as per the website, seems a little early to me, even blue ridge generally kept JF open till the last weekend in march... I've been a passholder there for a few years and the third week in March is usually when they close. I just saw that...kinda knew it was coming but still kinda bummed to see it official on the site. Since BB will open at 10am, you might be able to get first tracks . That's also another reason to get an unlimited pass. Edited March 17, 2008 by bigdaddyk Quote
k2rider2690 Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 bb is not gonna be open on weekdays after the 23...only weekends 10-6...they are not secretly staying open weeknights tt c6 Quote

method9455 Posted March 18, 2008 Report Posted March 18, 2008 Why is going to Vermont during Spring Break lame?? I know you have a pass at Belleayre..you could always go there for less of a drive.. Cuz I'll have to pay for a hotel room instead of just staying at home. I probably will hit Belleyare too, but it is too far to do from home everyday, but too close to bother with a hotel. I'll stay with my girlfriend but she can't take off from school our spring breaks don't line up, so looks like Vermont for me. Besides last week of the year? I just want to ride park if I hurt myself it doesn't matter Quote
method9455 Posted March 18, 2008 Report Posted March 18, 2008 I have a different attitude..I don't want to get injured ever..because I want to be in good shape for golf, hiking, dancing, and pushing around tombstones.. Which week is your spring break? I'll be at Stowe March 30th to April 5fh or so.. Minor injuries heal, I generally don't do anything stupid enough to get a major one. So far this year I tweaked my wrist a bit and hurt my right knee a bit but both healed after a few days. I have about 4 weeks between the end of snowboarding and the start of my training for sailing to being, the national championship is strangely enough at the start of the season so that is June 15-16 and it is on the east coast this year so I am going, definitely have to be in good shape for that. My break is March 28th - April 6th, who are you going with to Stowe? Quote
rideordie7 Posted March 18, 2008 Report Posted March 18, 2008 (edited) I'll be at Stowe March 30th to April 5fh or so.. I just got back from Stowe. Used the Transworld Snowboarding 3 day-$90 coupon. It worked out nice because we were only planning on going Fri-Sat, but we're able to get an hour in on Thurs because of it. They have a ton of snow everywehere. It snowed 6 inches Wed night and a coating on Friday. There were powder stashes in the trees and we spent alot of time in there. Friday was bluebird skies all day. The snow was fast up until about 2:30 and then it slowed a bit from the sun. Saturday was overcast and foggy at the top. The snow was still fast on trail and in the trees. The untouched snow on the edges of the trails was grabby. Have fun. That was my first time there and it was everything I expected and more. Edited March 18, 2008 by rideordie7 Quote
