Melissa Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 Went out for a few hours today. Stopped at Bear Creek Ski Shack to move the bindings +15 on my new Head Monsters. They were super nice and did not charge me. Conditions were AMAZING on the whole mountain. Grooming was awesome. I had an awesome time ripping it up on all the slopes* today. At one point, I guess I passed this guy on Cannonball, and when we both got down to the lift, he was like, "hey way to show me up." I laughed on the inside--this guy mustn't have been that great if he thinks he got shown (showed?) up by a *girl* who is basically on her first season. The big park looked great--nicely groomed. I think I saw some new rails, too, though I don't really pay attention to that kind of stuff. Toward the end of my time skiing (around 2:10), the base of the Phoebe lift started to become a slushy mess. I'll be back skiing tonight. I hope the conditions hold up. Also, I LOVE my new skis:) *Of course, I did not go on White Lightning, because I am too scared to try it. I thought about trying it today since the conditions were amazing, but I was worried that if I fell, I'd have to hike back up to get my own skis b/c I was skiing alone today. Quote
moe ghoul Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 At least you got out today, 2 big thumbs up! Quote
snoskier Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 Nice report. Glad to hear the mountain was good shape. I'm impressed your going back tonight for another session! Quote
Ski Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 WL sure has gotten into your brain. When I taught kids, I'd tell them to trick the slope into thinking it wasn't steep by skiing across the fall line. I showed them the power they had over any stupid hill that thought it was steep. Thanks for the TR...we'll be over all weekend... Quote

Melissa Posted March 21, 2008 Author Report Posted March 21, 2008 Whatever Toast, our relationship isn't that great. You never put out. I think I should just do it, even if I just traverse across like Ski suggests. Man up, Melissa. Doug - yes to Camelback on Sunday, me and Sarah are going. Are you? Quote
Ski Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 I think I should just do it, even if I just traverse across like Ski suggests. Man up, Melissa. But if you're up tomorrow and plan to do it, lemme know. I wanna watch what happens. Quote
Melissa Posted March 21, 2008 Author Report Posted March 21, 2008 But if you're up tomorrow and plan to do it, lemme know. I wanna watch what happens. HAHAAHah that is AWFUL! Thanks for the vote of confidence:) Doug of course re: Sunday. Why don't you try to rally some more people? Should be fun. Quote
Ski Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 HAHAAHah that is AWFUL! Thanks for the vote of confidence:) I know you can do it. The first 2/3 isn't very steep and, by that time, you start to see the bottom. But it's much more fun to do things when you are scared and have a little fear of Zaldon in you. Quote
Ratboy Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 Was at Sno this evening from 5:00 - 8:30. Conditions at the top of the mountain were not great. Hard pack and ice. Despite the marginal conditions I still had a good time. The nighttime lows are supposed to be below 30 for the next few nights. I wonder if they will make some snow? Quote
bigdaddyk Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 But if you're up tomorrow and plan to do it, lemme know. I wanna watch what happens. I never took notice, is there an orange fence at the bottom? Quote
