Ski Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 Sounded like a war zone over on White Lightning tonight as they PILE IT ON and get it ready. I was soooo tempted to duck the rope. Ungroomed man-made junk is skiable when it's really steep. But.... Condition report for the rest of the North Face: "F"ing perfect. Quote
Sno Mountain Skier Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 i was talking to a snowmaker when i was getting ready to go down lower runaway and i asked him about lightning and the park. heres what he said: he said that they are blowing for jumps tonite for 3 or 4 straight days. he then said that we should have a park in between sunday-tuesday. i than asked about lightning and he said it should be open sometime this weekend. i cant wait to get the bumps going and the park rocking because those are my two favorite types of skiing. Schif Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 Thats good to hear. I find it a little strange though that they wait to get Lightning open becaus it is one of Montage's signature trails. Quote
Sno Mountain Skier Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 i just called up snowmaking and they said that lightning should be open either friday nightor saturday. as for the park the guy said with some luck on saturday. so lets see nothing ever happens for luck at montage so im thinking monday that we wil heave a park. lineskier Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 I'm goin up tonight, can't wait. And the brilliant minds at Montage managed to misspell white lightning as white lightening on their website. Quote

Schif Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 I'm going to try to be up there on Saturday night. Fresh snow on Lightning is going to be awesome. It definately takes some skill to misspell one of your trails wrong. Gotta love Montage's lack of caring. Quote
Glenn Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 If the snow isn't too bad, I will make the trek up to montage tommorow. We shall see. I am eager to see what all the hype about white lightning is, and check out the other blacks as well. Quote
Sno Mountain Skier Posted January 22, 2005 Report Posted January 22, 2005 lightning was real nice today/tonight. i managed to get the first run down.it was nice and not reallypowdery but it wasnt icy and you were kicking up alot of snow. it was great because there were no bumps yet and i ripped down and was makin it down in less then 10 second. they werent blowing on any of the slopes that ski999 put down except switch. Ski Posted January 22, 2005 Author Report Posted January 22, 2005 That was just a 'cut and paste' of their website spelling of White LightEning. Anything you read on that website is likely to be about three weeks old. It even said "We're making snow" in August, which wasn't likely. Quote
