Anyone try these? www.streetski.com I think you'd get as much out of inline skates as you would with those and do you really want to wear ski boots in August when its 90 degrees and humid? Quote

Actually, i just tried roller blading, and I haven't roller bladed in like 3 years... I want to roller blade, but have the feeling of skiing. And I wouldn't mind having ski boots on in August... phillycore Posted April 5, 2008 Report Posted April 5, 2008 I've seen those before... they look cool Just seems like it would still be more of an inline feel than a ski feel albeit with ski boots Quote

I really have an inkling that it would feel more like skiing, then inline skiing. Just cause they are longer then inline skates...I'm buying them... Quote
xNick11 Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 So lame haha. Just buy rollerblades, you will have more control at getting a carve like you would in skiing with rollerblades then you would with those. Have fun trying to stop on those things. Quote

Justin Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 Those things actually look real fun to mess around on. But not $450 fun... Quote
librider Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 Have fun trying to stop on those things. Exactly what I was thinking. Quote
Ratboy Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 Exactly what I was thinking. A video about these strange things (they actually talk about stopping). And here's odd device for snowboarders: Freebord Quote
DHarrisburg Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 Chippy I would bet dollars to doughnuts that if you buy those things they will sit in your closet for the majority of the summer after you used them once or twice. Quote
moe ghoul Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 After watching that video it looks a lot cooler than I thought. All I need now is a lift that takes me from the bottom of my road back to the house. Quote
Ratboy Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 If you get those things, you're going to need serious protective gear (Pads, lots of pads) ... Hitting the pavement at any speed sucks. Sometimes it can be like hitting a cheese grater. Quote
Justin Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 You could buy skis for the same price as those contraptions. Quote
Ratboy Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 You could buy skis for the same price as those contraptions. Can't use regular skis on pavement. I think the person interested in these things wants to do some summer training, or perhaps just help ease the withdrawal pains brought on by the end of the season (I understand completely). Quote
Ski Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 I think you'd get as much out of inline skates as you would with those and do you really want to wear ski boots in August when its 90 degrees and humid? I know what you're saying, but wearing ski boots is the whole point...with grass skiing, you get a very similar experience to skiing because you are working/flexing your ski boots. That's all. Chippy might end up a bloody mess on the pavement, but he's young and will heal just fine. Quote
