Barb Posted November 26, 2018 Report Posted November 26, 2018 I had a brand new ski lock still in the package in my garage. I just opened it, put in a code and stuck it in the pocket of my ski jacket. I promise I will use it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote

I had to put a sticker on mine so I could find them easier in the rack when I go inside. I think I’ll have the only pair with the orange Rossignol FKS bindings 🙂 1 Quote

momskeeztoo Posted November 27, 2018 Report Posted November 27, 2018 Another reason I love the bottom lodge. Just bring your skis in with you. I also have a ski lock I use for my bike. I guess I should get it off the bike and put in my ski bag. 1 Quote

I tell them if they want to bag a deer, all they need to do is let me drive them around at night (in their car of course) and they will have one in no time. 2 1 Quote
Shadows Posted November 29, 2018 Report Posted November 29, 2018 what's the deal with buckman? They buy stuff directly from the manufacturer? 1-3 day shipping Quote

Shadows Posted November 30, 2018 Report Posted November 30, 2018 Figured I would do the local business thing. They were this years skis so the price was no different anywhere. Oh well Quote

I might get some heat for this and I do regularly shop at Buckmans for small items but I often find it hard to shop there for "big" purchases because of how high their mark ups often are. They had a $120 pair of pants on Burtons website, marked for $160. That's a 25% markup....come on man. I ended up buying the same pair of pants from a local shop at the base of Hunter for $140. That's at least reasonable IMO. 1 Quote
Shadows Posted November 30, 2018 Report Posted November 30, 2018 It's just dumb an online store can get them to me faster than local store that actually has them in the store. 2 Quote

That's at least reasonable IMO. I will as much as I can. Amazon prime and backcountry makes things too easy. If I can get it for the same price, I’ll go to a store, but that doesn’t happen often. Brick and mortar stores are dying off for a reason. The only store I truly buy at in person most of the time is my local running store Aardvark, but that is because I get a discount there and they have given me a lot of the last few years I’ve been running. It’s like the old Nestor’s used to be - I’d just go there to hang out and chat with the employees. 2 Quote
Johnny Law Posted November 30, 2018 Report Posted November 30, 2018 Buckman's sucks donkey dick, no offense to anybody that worked there many of my relations did but it's just not a good store. Anything other then i'll take these right here right now and it's like three weeks. Quote
momskeeztoo Posted November 30, 2018 Report Posted November 30, 2018 Got my skis and boots at Buckmans. Skis because they had the length and width I wanted. Online same skis were just as much. Got them mounted at Blue, because they would do it right away. I’ve had work done by their tune shop in the past, and was happy with it. Quote
mgguy Posted November 30, 2018 Report Posted November 30, 2018 Buckmans is terrible, in Reading ever since Pinnacle sold out the service is terrible. Arrogant know it alls thinking you are doing them a favor by shopping there. Quote
theprogram4 Posted November 30, 2018 Report Posted November 30, 2018 ive always had good experiences with buckmans and they had my stuff from another store brought in within two days Quote
antman12 Posted November 30, 2018 Report Posted November 30, 2018 I’ve Never had bad experiences. Just too overpriced. Quote
