stbgskibum247 Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 I hope its cold by then!!!! Seems like everyone is pushin the opening dates this year Quote
paolo Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 Thats awesome. I want to see those movies so bad but I just dont have the money to buy them. A rail jam would be awesome also. Quote
Justin Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 It would be geographically impossible for Bear to open that early. BB can just barely pull it off considering they have a significant temperature increase compared to Bear which is the warmest out of all the mountains in PA. They struggle to get things rolling in December.... Quote
Tyler Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 actually justin, with a decent cold spell, all of the mountains could be open around thanksgiving. geographically, bear creek is not located in florida, so therefore it is possible. Quote
toast21602 Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 actually justin, with a decent cold spell, all of the mountains could be open around thanksgiving. geographically, bear creek is not located in florida, so therefore it is possible. woah woah woah. hold on. Bear isn't located in Florida? Quote
the kid with no poles Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 I cant wait for the rail jam. I think bear will open by mid to late november Quote
Tyler Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 woah woah woah. hold on. Bear isn't located in Florida? last time i checked, nope. Quote
gdthomas Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 It can get pretty cold in florida......florida, new york... Quote
rgrwilco Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 im pretty sure spring is warmer than bear... Quote
Justin Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 im pretty sure spring is warmer than bear... Spring doesn't count, obviously. Haha But in all seriousness, BB can have up to an 8 degree temperature difference from Bear. Even right now according to Google it's 3 degrees colder at BB. It might not sound like a lot but it could be the difference of blowing snow and not. Quote
Tyler Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 im pretty sure spring is warmer than bear... spring actually has it a little better than bear. despite being further south and a little warmer, they get all their water right from the perkiomen creek, unlike bears warm ponds. so when bear struggles to get their water temp down, spring already has cold water. Saurus Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 springs got the gnarliest rails and fastest lifts! what are you guys smoking? Quote
rgrwilco Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 yeah there seriously is something gnarly about springs rails and lifts but not in a good way. its still fun to ride there though once a year Quote
Tyler Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 theres something magical about spring. it must be like that old ski resort and the first place ive rode kind of thing, but it makes me look forward to a yearly visit there. Quote
snowboarddude Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 sick... nice to see them pushing for a earlier opening Quote
