skigurl Posted February 3, 2005 Report Share Posted February 3, 2005 1. you can find something to do even if you can't ski.....yeah i still go up ppl look at me funny but i have fun. 2. those hidden middle trails can be lots of fun after about 5ish.... 3. Hot guys.......from ESU 4. Really nice runs if you get there early before the crowd skis them off(on the weekends) 5. you can get in and outa the bathrooms with out waiting on line....there is nothing i hate more then leaving my skis at base with friends running in to go to the bathroom to find out that i'm ganna have to wait 5 mins in line just to get into the bathroom. She reached into her purse and went to give me a 20. When I told her that wouldn't do and what she should donate, it damn near got me fired. No sense of humor. (it also helps to know all the trails most people overlook) 3. Conditions - been excellent this year even on trouble spots like pharoh and tut 4. High speed quads! although i'm spoiled and get impatient when i go elsewhere 5. parking at sunbowl. step out of your car into the snow. 6. of course the bra tree 7. condtions page is almost always up to date. 8. great snowmaking but not the best 9. 10. tried to think of ten but thats all i got for now. Was told by some one sharing the lift with me that her son had bought a big 48" bra to hang on the tree but that it got folded when he tossed it and can't be fully appreciated! One good and not so good thing I experienced at my first and only visit to CB last week, was that the ticket police didn't like the fact that I put my ticket on my thermometer clip instead of the teeny-tiny hole in my jacket zipper itself. They told me that I'd have to replace the lift ticket. Blue, Montage and Elk didn't seem to care about how and where the ticket is placed, only CB had a kiniption fit about it! On the "plus" side, they were cool about it. Not having a replacement ticket at the lift, they told me to continue skiing and that they'd replace it once they had a ticket for me. If they had wanted to be real a-holes, they could have made me go back to square one (the ticket office) and get a replacement. After a couple of hours, they pulled me aside and clipped my inappropriately attached ticket and gave me a new one. Since I ski mostly with a season pass, this isn't a big issue for me, but I found it interesting that only CB seemed most concerned about the attachment of the ticket itself. They must need every dollar! Also it makes me wonder about the kinds of folks that ski CB, if this is such a big issue for the management and ticket police... skigurl Posted February 5, 2005 Report Share Posted February 5, 2005 they arn't big about putting them on sweatshirts, they would much much much rather have it attatched to a jacket. but i've seen people go as far as swithcing jackets, the one time i saw a mom and dad with two younger (like 4) children take one child out, then come back in and switch the jacket and the dad would then take the other child out back and forth all night. He photoshopped something and glued it to the back of his bear creek pass. He was skiing off the marked trail over a building (not quite sure where it is), and when he popped back on the trail, 3 rangers were just standing there. They were pretty mad then they asked for his pass, he refused to give it up because obviously it was fake. So when they looked at it closer, it started to peel. So then more rangers showed up. They escorted him to the bottom of the mountain where there were security guys waiting for him, and shortly there after, some cops arrested him. Right now he is looking at theft of services and something to do with making the fake pass like "dublication of trademark" or some garbage like that. That sucks for him and if he was a student he could have just saved himself the hassle for only $199. and not have to worry. Its going to cost way more in lawyers and attorneys fees for defense, plus fines, possible jail time and probation for stealing. Not worth taking a chance. Margaritaville Skier Posted February 6, 2005 Report Share Posted February 6, 2005 Back when I first purchased my cabin by CB, my bonehead son-in-law went up with some friends for a weekend of skiing. Besides drinking every drop of liquor I had in the place, one of them boosted my season pass out of the cabin and got busted. Since CB management wouldn't sell me a replacement for the remainder of the season, the bonehead ended up paying for a daily pass for the rest of the season for me and I made a point to go at least three times a week,two times on the weekend. It got very expensive but at least CB didn't have them arrested. They were lucky. I never let my season pass out of my possession after that. I'm almost positive he won't have to foot the bill for the lawyers/court, his parents have some cash and are more than willing to help him "through this time in his life." I think the messed up part is they will help him out with lawyers fees but not foot the bill for the season pass in the first place. Oh, well, not my kid.
