pyro_boarder Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 I was up at CB today and It was way to crowded for me and most of the people there were so stupid! I think it was because there were a lot of schools up tonight. There were so many people doing nothing but get in the way in the park. It was so bad that I left early. They just make the whole vibe of the mountain unenjoyable. Yeah they annoy me. I think I had more to say but I'm too tired too think. I hate stupid people. </rant> Quote

I did a bunch of runs on the asp and it was beautiful, with a little bit of a lip on the head wall that could really throw you over the mountain. Quote

pyro_boarder Posted February 4, 2005 Author Report Posted February 4, 2005 (edited) Yeah there were so many people there from school. I'm used to riding almost right on the lift on weeknights but yeasterday there were fairly long lines. By 6:30 I was so fed up with them that I just left. I'm have to rember to go later on thursdays from now on untill the schools stop coming. Edited February 4, 2005 by pyro_boarder Quote
zaldon Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 yea if you dont like school crowds dont go friday nights either. Quote
joeskier Posted February 11, 2005 Report Posted February 11, 2005 worst day of skiing ever!! went to CB around 11am they had just decided to close the stevenson b/c of winds. condtions were all ice. They must have groomed when it was still warm out then it all froze so their plenty of courdory, not bad if you don't mind that skiing on bumpy ice feeling along with some of those "death cookies" that some of you speak of. and to top it off there was even bare spots showing on certain trails. At least they are making some fresh snow the next few nights! Quote
mtnbiker99x Posted February 11, 2005 Report Posted February 11, 2005 They can't control the weather, it did go from like 50F+ for a few days and now its down in the teens. So I would imagine the snow is going to be hard no matter how much they groom it. The good thing is looks like they are making snow on 7 trails tonight according to the website. It will only take a few days to get things back on track. Quote
zaldon Posted February 11, 2005 Report Posted February 11, 2005 maybe 7 days you have to remember this is cb were talking bout Quote
skimom Posted February 11, 2005 Report Posted February 11, 2005 It was awesome, though limited, tonight - they ran a groomer over Cleo, Mark, Tut and Birches. The diamonds were closed as was the Stevenson, but what they groomed was fine. Quote
ThinkSnow Posted February 11, 2005 Report Posted February 11, 2005 At least they are making some fresh snow the next few nights! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Is this confirmed? seems late in the season for them to be blowing. Quote
mtnbiker99x Posted February 11, 2005 Report Posted February 11, 2005 Is this confirmed? seems late in the season for them to be blowing. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I can hear the snowguns on the live snowcam. I'll be up there later today and let you know for sure. Quote
skidude Posted February 11, 2005 Report Posted February 11, 2005 This IS confirmed. I was up last night, and they were blowing a full assult on Pharow, and the trail under Pharow. Looked like they could have been getting ready to blow on some other trails too Quote
ThinkSnow Posted February 11, 2005 Report Posted February 11, 2005 Good to hear! I guess they figure they couldn't make it to their pre-defined closing date with the snow they have. Quote
poconoceancity Posted February 11, 2005 Report Posted February 11, 2005 Is this confirmed? seems late in the season for them to be blowing. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They blow up to Feb 21st. Never after. Quote
Timeless Posted February 11, 2005 Report Posted February 11, 2005 They blow up to Feb 21st. Never after. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Maybe they will surprise us all and keep blowing as long as the weather allows, then they could stay open 'til the beginning of April and still give themselves a month to get camelbeeyatch open. wishful thinking? Quote
ski911 Posted February 12, 2005 Report Posted February 12, 2005 That would be great, but, it takes more than a month to do the switch. Quote
pyro_boarder Posted February 12, 2005 Author Report Posted February 12, 2005 So just push back the Cbeach opening, they push back CB's all the time. They can blame it on the cold weather. Quote
mtnbiker99x Posted February 12, 2005 Report Posted February 12, 2005 I just got home and when I left tonight they started turning on the snow guns on a bunch of trails. So it should be pretty good for the weekend and next week. Quote
Margaritaville Skier Posted February 12, 2005 Report Posted February 12, 2005 (edited) Possibility of rain/frozen precip( AKA ice) early next week. Edited February 12, 2005 by Margaritaville Skier Quote
