julz m Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 so i have been developing my backyard park, and i have some carpet. im curious how you get ice rink snow? do you just show up at a rink and ask? Quote
toast21602 Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 ask when they cut it and then go pick it up. Quote
burton71 Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 A shovel and pickup truck. They cut the ice many times a day and dump the zamboni usually every 3-4 cuts. Once the weather starts cooling off the piles start to stay around longer. Although a bunch of rinks dump their ice inside so they can filter and reuse some of the water. Quote

method9455 Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 Our local rink melts theirs too, I really don't why they would go through the expense of doing that when they can just dump it outside. Never bothered to ask about it though. Quote
