Glenn Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 I witnessed one of the funnier incidents dealing with leashes in the park today. The dad is taking his kid through the park, who knows why, but we all know it happens. The funny part is the dad gets distracted watching people do a hit, and his kid falls, and he doesn't realize it, and runs right over the kid. The kid, being a kid and all, got right up and was ready to keep skiing, but it was just pretty amazing that the dad was the negligent. Later we saw him dropping his kid into the pipe which consisted of him holding the leash as the kid teater tottered on the lip, then letting go of the leash and the kid face planting. At least the kid took off before the dad dropped in, and tried to ride the walls of the pipe. He was actually a competent skier (for his age anyways) so I'm not really sure why he was on a leash in the first place. Quote
AtomicSkier Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 o man, that was probably funnier then what we saw, with the kid just sitting below the jump and he kept getting nailed. Quote
nick malozzi Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 ive always wanted to see a kid on a leash try and hit like an easy rail and watch his parents yank the kid off cause they told him not to, lol. Quote
Papasteeze Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 I witnessed one of the funnier incidents dealing with leashes in the park today. Steven comes off the wall switch right into the center of the leash and takes both of them out.. Kid crying, Dad.. who knows what he was thinking? I am glad I wasn't there.. Park passes have got to start being used - or more people are going to get hurt needlessly. Even color coded lift tickets would help so that the purchaser at least thinks at the time of the purchase whether or not they want to be in the park. and whats with all of the cut off's and drop in's not being called... Lack of common sense is driving us nuts!! Quote
Glenn Posted March 17, 2005 Author Report Posted March 17, 2005 It seems the issue is just the complete ignorance moreso than a negligent attitude. I think the instructors could maybe go over basic park ettuqite. I try to educate those around me when waiting for a park feature (which doesn't happen often). I think things are only going to change if we the skiers/riders work to change it. Quote
Nipples Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 I yelled drop in as loud as I could and the dad gave me a look and dropped in.So I went took my first hit 360ed came back down backwards strait into the rope, swing that kid aroud and started cring.Dad started yelling at me I told him it was his fault because I said drop in and begginers shielded be in the park exspshly 3 year olds. Margaritaville Skier Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 That's when you get a ranger and let him/her handle the parent even though sometimes it's hopeless. They think because they purchase a ticket, they can go anywhere regardless of their ability. Quote
Nipples Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 I told him I get a rager if I saw him ignore a kid that said drop in. Quote
