riderossi Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 (edited) lights are on and the snow is blowing hard . check out newswatch 16 tonight, they usually do a story the first night montage/sno starts making snow. I'm not positive they will be doing one though, just throwing it out there. quote:Newswatch 16 showed the guns blowin up at sno!! heh...am i good or what haha Edited November 19, 2008 by riderossi Quote

Sno Mountain Skier Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 Now that is what I like to hear! Probally would have been better if they started them last night or the night before. They probally could have opened this weekend if they blew last night. But I dont know if they willhave enough for an opening. Quote

I won't be around for any of the madness this weekend anyway so if Sno waits a week its fine by me. More base and more trails for when they finally do open. Quote
xNick11 Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 Sno is planning on opening Thanksgiving weekend. Quote
rastasquid Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 Sno is planning on opening Thanksgiving weekend. are you working up there again and heard this from sno management? they were blowing hard tonight when I passed by and the lights were on. Its beginning to look alot like winter! Quote
riderossi Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 are you working up there again and heard this from sno management? they were blowing hard tonight when I passed by and the lights were on. Its beginning to look alot like winter! not this week... Quote
rastasquid Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 I drove by at around 11:30 and it looked like they were blowing on the top of highball or mainline. Whistler looks to be about 1/3 covered. Cannonball (i think) looks like its got a substantial amount of snow on it. Quote
Schif Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 Just checked the website and it was actually updated. they're blowing on all of the greens except easy street, and then they are blowing on cannonball, smoke, boomer and lightning. Boulder might be the first to open, but Montage will have the first diamonds up and running this year! Quote
Melissa Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 BTW, I'm not doing anything tonight so I volunteer to take a drive up to Montage and check out the coverage. (This is a nice excuse to go to TCBY and Ann Taylor Loft!) I'll report back. Quote
Papasteeze Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 Boulder might be the first to open, but Montage will have the first diamonds up and running this year! Boulder Trail is marked Black Diamond and it is opening tomorrow. Quote
ski14 Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 compared to snos thats like a circle Quote
First Grade Teacher Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 Boulder Trail is marked Black Diamond and it is opening tomorrow. Key word.................."marked" Quote
First Grade Teacher Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 it's a legit black..you miss a turn and you wind up in the lake.. No. You end up on the parking lot/access road. Quote
BCBSNOBBSkier Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 Just out of curiosity can they even blow snow on easy street? Has anyone even ever been on it. Whenever I go there is tape all the way along highball preventing you from getting on. Quote
Melissa Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 Last night I went up to Montage to check it out. The NF coverage looks good. The rest of the mountain was kind of hard to see. Some trails looked decent, but anothers might have just have snow piles on them--couldn't tell if snow wasn't really blown on those trails or whether the snow was just piled up. Around 5pm when I was up there, I saw one gun on by the base. Base area has good coverage from what I could see from my car. Parking lot was cleaned up and looks nice--new trees planted and some privacy fencing. Just checked the website and it says: "Breaking News! Sn Quote
