trtaylor Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 Daily Conditions Camelback Mountain Resort is thrilled to announce that it will begin making snow tonight, November 17, 2008. Coupled with one of the more favorable forecasts in recent years, Camelback's newly upgraded snowmaking system will have terrain available this weekend should temperatures hold. gahskier Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 I'm right there with yah steeze. Camelback ended last season why not let it start this season. Quote
Ride Delaware ? Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 They have the snowmaking plans on their condition page, and although it will be November skiing and riding in PA, their strategy is different... The past two years they started with Marc Anthony, Cleo, Honeymoon Lane, Coolmor, and Home Again... However, they used to open Marjie's opening day and would appear to be poised to do so again this year. The layout may be different, but it will allow for beginner terrain and "expert" terrain on opening day. It would appear that the ski school would be open too... I wonder if they can open everything before Christmas like they did four years ago... If they get the mountain open this weekend and expand that trail count to 10 by t-day, I think they will see a decently profitable business unless there is some unexpected NCP... Quote
gahskier Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 I doubt Blue will blow tonight. I would bet they start tomorrow night. Quote
poop Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 soooo gay i hate how loud those snow guns are...........ughhhhhhhhh sleep will suck tonight, X2 if they put the lights on..... Quote
moe ghoul Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 Probabilities weighed heavily in favor for a good snow season this year after quite a few suckazz years in a row. Low gas, big snow, unemployed........STOKE! Quote
method9455 Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 They're blowing.. http://www.skicamelback.com/SkiCamelback/C...tos-Videos.aspx Nice. I have no idea where that is but that is a nice quantity of snow. Maybe when I graduate I should go work for SMI or Dopplyemuer because I love the stuff that makes skiing possible. Quote
Ride Delaware ? Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 Yeah, the webcam is showing an impressive amount of snow being made... It would appear to be from a fan gun on Sullivans or Laurel Glade... Quote

It would appear to be from a fan gun on Sullivans or Laurel Glade... Hmm, definately changed views from earlier. Before it was showing one of their standard pole air/water nozzles (that produce a TON of snow). So I really haven't a clue anymore. Quote
stevePSSC Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 If they plan on opening a park this weekend on the Tubing park... then that would be my best guess as to where they are blowing snow Quote
IrishSnow686 Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 I'm guessing CB will only be open on the weekends until the "official" start to the season when they are open everyday. Hopefully they will be open midweek after this weekend.. I have a day off from work on Monday and would sweet to be able to head up for some Nov. midweek riding. Quote
Ride Delaware ? Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 If it stays cold and there doesn't appear to be a massive warmup for next week I would bet they stay open... There would be no reason to close down if they can keep up the snow quality... Its great PR for T-Day which I am sure will be a big weekend for them if they make it... Another holiday weekend on the books would be a huge success... Quote
Ride Delaware ? Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 I can't get the webcam to work... Anybody else having that problem? Can anyone make it up there to take some pics? Are the guns still on? Quote
IrishSnow686 Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 I haven't been able to get on the webcam myself. My guess is they shut it off if they stopped making snow. If thats the case, I'm sure it will be on once the guns turn back on. Quote
snowboarddude Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 it was on last night and before they were blowing yesterday but today i cant get on it Quote
