RidgeRacer Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 Just back from a really nice day at Jack Frost. It's definitely nice to have Jack Frost finally open for the season. I pulled into a fairly empty lot around 10am. Skies were overcast with no precipitation. The temperature was about 50 degrees. I got my pass validated made my first Jack Frost run of the season on Thunderbolt. The rain did take it's toll on the snow which was a fast wet granular surface. I felt like Clark Griswold when he applied the kitchen lubricant to his sled from Christmas Vacation. Carving out wide turns on Thunderbolt was a blast. After a few runs on Thunderbolt I headed for Challenge which was kinda bumpy from all of the cat tracks. The trees were a bit sticky so I really didn't bother. I then headed for Exhibition which had one side groomed and the other with snow making piles. After a run on exhibition I headed for the One Park trees which were skiable until about half way down (dont know for how long though with the rain / warmth) then had to bear left onto One Park which again was bumpy from the cat tracks. After a few runs there it was back over to Thunderbolt and the T bolt glade for a bit to finish. Overall an excellent first mid week day at Jack Frost. Only a 2 photos today. Quote
