RidgeRacer Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 (edited) Just back from another day at Jack Frost. I was ready to head out around 10 but it was raining so I figured I'd hold off until it stopped which it did luckily. I got to the Mt. around 1pm. Visibility on the road was good until the JF access road and it got foggy as you went up. Visibility on the hill wasn't all that bad though. The Mt. was groomed and conditions were either frozen cord or a soft loose granular depending where you skied. Higher traffic areas in the middle of T-Bolt and challenge loosened things up and made for a fast, easy to carve surface. I skied primarily on Thunderbolt with a run on Exhibition and a few runs on Challenge. The Challenge trees were fun today. The snow in there is kinda hollow and makes a lot of sound when you turn on it but there's plenty of it and it's real easy to edge. Another fun day. No matter how many times I ski Frost I never get tired of it. Here's a few photos on the day... ectobar Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 Looks good. I should be getting my first day of frost in sometime this weekend, super stoked. I was at BB tonight. Surprisingly good night. Thought I would be in for an ice rink, but everything turned out to be sugary and easily manageable. Quote

mbike-ski Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 frost woods always looks so nice - i was commenting to my buddy on the chair at blue how shitty it looks cuz they just let all the deadfall lay and never dress up any of the excavation, part of that zinc mill / strip mining mentality i guess. hey but it'll all look the same when its covered with snow! A lot of effort has gone into clearing out the JF woods. Honestly it is something every mountain could do in select places that would add a lot for advanced skiers but few do. Quote
