RidgeRacer Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 From the jfbb.com... East Mountain will open this weekend (Saturday, December 20) with Lightning, River Shot, and Sno Chute! Oursnowmakers got a little help from Mother Nature - 12 inches of fresh powder! Conditions are ideal at both Jack Frost and Big Boulder so get some pre-holiday turns... Quote
C1erArt Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 Great conditions, East Mountain was foggy on top, but cleared up at the top of the first headwall, soft packed powder conditions. Thunderbolt from the Challenge Lift - Had to wait until there were people on the slope to take pictures of. Quote
Justin Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 I got there around 10. East Mtn was pretty tracked out and cruddy. The park was decent though, they had a 15 and 20 step down. The 20 was real fun and easy to throw shit on, definitely going back tomorrow morning. I'm at boulder now super bored in the lodge, waiting for people to show up Quote
EAZY-Emuntz Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 All in all a great day. Still some pow pow in the glades Terrain park was alright. the 2nd bigger jump was nice for floating some 3's heres a pic of me on east mt. Quote

dw2430 Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 has boudler been changed at all? any more jumpers? i wanna know if its worth my time tomorrow morning or should i just go to frost again? Quote
TT C6 Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 (edited) has boudler been changed at all? any more jumpers? i wanna know if its worth my time tomorrow morning or should i just go to frost again? ONE park at Frost has 2 good jumps. But, the landings got pretty icy. Also, I had to bomb the 2nd one from the landing of the 1st. I was told that there will be no new jumps at BB this weekend and it's the same ONE jump only (35+ft) in Boulder Park. LOVE Park needs to be built with some 20 ft jumps ASAP. Boulder needs multiple jumps on multiple runs with a variance in size. Edited December 21, 2008 by TT C6 Quote
librider Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 East Mountain was fun today. One park was alright too. But Boulder really needs to step up their game. Having 7 terrain parks marked on your trail maps is impressive, but not so much if only 2-3 of them have any features on them. Quote
Justin Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 Boulder was pretty shitty, honestly, but it was more of mother nature's fault. With all the natural snow they blew snow on top of it so it was a sticky mess in some parts. They also cut the lip on the jump down a good bit. Between that, the snow, and my dry ass bases (laziness) I had some speed issues. Caught the knuckle on a 3 second hit of the day...smashed my face with my knees. Not so fun. Freedom was normal...setup is getting old though. I'd be pissed if I wasn't moving to Colorado in 6 days. Super disappointed though. I thought they would have a jump line before I left. Quote
dw2430 Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 (edited) yeah boulder has been such a joke so far this year. ill stick with frost until that fat jack osborne guy gets his head out of his ass and puts up something decent put a red bull hat on that picture and we got the famed big boulder park designer Edited December 22, 2008 by dw2430 Quote

Boulder still has three top to bottom (more or less) park runs before Christmas. And Frost also has a top to bottom run. It's still sick, but last year they really had their shit together and this year I feel like they're kind of sluggish. Regardless their setup is still the best and its maintained the best out of anywhere else around here. Quote
Tyler Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 Regardless their setup is still the best and its maintained the best out of anywhere else around here. ya know i would much rather ride bear at the moment. the set up is pretty ill and stuff is maintained well... Quote
Justin Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 ya know i would much rather ride bear at the moment. the set up is pretty ill and stuff is maintained well... Do they still have those two jumps? Those looked fucking sick. Quote
Tyler Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 yeah they do, but their doing a full rebuild on the parks the next couple days so who knows what will happen Quote
boardin_nerd Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 I think there still gunna keep the jumps though.. i think there just re building the upper part of cascade with all the rails....they'll probably add the tree bonk and stuff..... With FOUR jumps up i think bear is doing some nice shoot.. especially with that one jump being 40+ feet.. Quote
Tyler Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 With FOUR jumps up i think bear is doing some nice shoot.. especially with that one jump being 40+ feet.. 4 jumps? 2 lips on one jump doesnt count. there are only 3. Quote
