You looking for anyone to help with the room if I can get vacay and my knee works?

We are staying right at the resort itself. http://www.hgp.co.jp/inf/Z00/hgp/

It's pricey... 15,000 yen per person, per day, includes breakfast and dinner - 2 per room. I don't want to take any chances on anything sketchy, so I am using the competition venues housing, shuttles, etc etc. But yeah, as I learn more about this whole trip, more options should appear.

That equates to around 160 bucks a day. What are plane tickets running ya?

$1026 Continental non-stop Newark to Tokyo in 14 hours. That seems like a good price. Before checking into flights, I was told to budget 12-1500 for the flight.

The $160 is about $325 because of Double occupancy less 4 meals... I guess that puts the room errrrr closet value around $250 per night. It initially seemed really steep but finding anything else to save maaaaaybe a $100 a night wasn't working and then we would have to buy meals. Plus, all the athletes/media/coaches who are registering through the website are all put into the same area.

Do it this way for the first time and know what to do differently the next?

Yeah, i was saying 160 per person, per day.

Thats not to bad. I looked at plane tickets to Japan a few months ago, I remember the flights being a bit higher, i think in that range you were told. So looks like you made out well.

Yes please!!! Take notes and be observant. I will be grilling you upon your return. I'm thinking next year. That Continental flight is actually a good deal. I flew a similar route on the way to China in March. The plane on the way to China was an older 777 and sucked real big in terms of comfort and entertainment, but the way back we had a brand new one that had all kinds of media in the headrest and much comfier seats. The food and service was very good as compared to what modern domestic air travel has become post-9/11.

can't read Japanese.. so I took the picture from what appears to be the cheapest room

Then I went to what appears to be dining.

Sushi anyone?

Dining area.. There appears to be 5 at this resort.

Is Nips in school anymore?

This school district allows you to withdrawl kids and re-enroll them. As long as he continues to hold down A's and B's....

sick. let us know how that goes!

Nips placed second in his heat!! (most of the field washed out in sketchy conditions, he stomped 10 mute and 540 tail in quarter pipe. Semis in the morning and finals tomorrow afternoon.

Japan actually has some pretty killer pow, can' t wait to see the TR.

uhhhhhhh yeah - they do get tons of powder about 400 miles north of where we are. it rained the first 2 days, wet snow today. who the hell knows what tomorrow. This whole cultural kind of trip has more than made up for the sketchy conditions.

We ended up going with Western Sports academy kids - !5 kids, Mike Handley as coach, Dean Kistler as interperter and myself with media and manager passes. We are staying true Japanese style lodging. Quite the experience so far.

I load pics and stuff when I get back. tough to find enough time to email, NS and PASR in one sitting.

Peace people - Japan is sick!

Forgot to mention.. the whole baby doll style with the Japanese girls is ___________________
