kragan Posted January 13, 2009 Report Posted January 13, 2009 I am looking at grabbing some Salomon X Wing Fury 172's off of Ebay (item# 400022977281) that come with S12 adjustable demo bindings on them. My question is how difficult, or even possible, is it to remove the "demo" portion of the binding and remount them permanently? Or is this just a bad idea all together? Quote
toast21602 Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 i dont know much about that.... but if i were to guess, i would say it would be a bad idea. Quote
Johnny Law Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 Can't do it.......at least easily. Quote
snorovr Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 Its a hassle vs. benefit type deal. It is easier to just take off the demos, sell them on ebay, and get some regular binders. It really isn't a super big deal to ride demo bindings all the time, my little brother has done it for a couple years. There is just better feel on the ski with regular bindings, less chance of a prerelease, etc... Quote
Justo8484 Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 that ski uses a system binding, so unless you've got some connections with salomon that are going to give you a system binding without the ski, its gonna be pretty difficult to buy, then sell the demo bindings, then buy regular bindings to put on them. kragan Posted January 21, 2009 Author Report Posted January 21, 2009 Thanks for the info. After thinking about it I decided to just put the cash up for a new pair, however not the Salomon's. I should have a new set of Fischer Cold Heat 182's sitting on my door step when I get home from work tonight! Quote
