Santa Clauss Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 So I need to go wider with the DH, called up the shop and asked about it, He told me that it may make the board considerably more likely to break if I have this done, anyone ever have a board T-bolted? ever hear any horror stories on boards breaking because of it? Btw for those of you who may not know, T-bolting boards basically is just adding another set of inderts so you can go wider with your stance Quote
Mixilplix Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 How wide of a stance are you going for? I would think the bolt patterns would cover the widest of stances. Quote
Tyler Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 its honestly not wide enough already? Quote
Glenn Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 Don't bother, if you need to ask you clearly aren't gangsta enough. Quote
zaldon Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 those guys at the shop are just foolin with ya .. the more holes you drill the more flex and less likely your board is to break Quote
Santa Clauss Posted January 21, 2009 Author Report Posted January 21, 2009 "Tight pant's wide Stance" yeah dude, last night I Was rockin my holden classics, I love those pants but it was a little too cold for'em, as for "wide Enough" The stance on the banana is substancially wider, I don't know how much in numbers, on all three boards I have my stance maxed out, and wouldent have it any other way... I'm gonna do it anyway, I just wanted to see if anyone ever heard of problems from doing it. Quote
dw2430 Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 from what ive heard. t bolting involves losts of dick in the ass. just ride the board maxed out with your baseplate disk turned sideways. Quote
poop Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 yeah ur max should be around 23 on that board.......unless your really tall your knees are asking for death. i rock like 23 i think not 100% sure but its maxed out , base plates and all. Only b/c its comfy for me idk why. Quote
Dan- Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 yeah ur max should be around 23 on that board.......unless your really tall your knees are asking for death. i rock like 23 i think not 100% sure but its maxed out , base plates and all. Only b/c its comfy for me idk why. I think he'd could go wider, I ride a 23.5 inch stance, and it's not even close to maxed. Could probably easily go 26, but that'd hurt pretty bad. My buddy who is 6'3 rode a 26 inch stance, and said it killed his knees so he's down to 24.5. Quote
Santa Clauss Posted January 22, 2009 Author Report Posted January 22, 2009 Look, Whatever stance with my banana is (Maxed out), is what I want my DH thats all end of discussion I ride just fine with it that wide, Nobody should be telling me how wide I should ride my stance i've been riding enough to know... The wider I go the better it got. Base plate turned sideways? I don't get it, I have ride bindings and they have slots, the bolts are all the way out so... if I turned it sideways it would be less because it would center the binding on the bols right? uhh so can someone please explain this turning base plate sideways thing? BTW I would have the shop do it... Quote
dw2430 Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 you can either have the slots verticle or horizontal. if they are horizontal then you already got them maxed out as far as they go Quote
Santa Clauss Posted January 22, 2009 Author Report Posted January 22, 2009 yea thats how they are, I'm pretty sure thats how there suposta be. unless you want them mounted off center? Quote
poop Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 measure your stance then to see what your dealing with. if you ask how to do that properly im not telling you. ps. your knees are fucked boy if you think the wider the better Quote
method9455 Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 How big is the board? The stance varies by size he could be riding a really small board for his height and thats why its bothering him. T-bolting it will definately weaken the shit out of it if done poorly, and marginally degrade it if done right. Quote
dw2430 Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 my guess is 6 foot tall and riding this year or last years dh and i think those go as low as 51. so im saying 51 Quote
Santa Clauss Posted January 22, 2009 Author Report Posted January 22, 2009 Last years and its a 155, I should really just measure and see how much smaller the stance is, look my knees are fine i've been riding like this for 2 years lol, and I have huge legs, I bike, played hockey, my legs are cannons but i'm serious, lots of muscle... If only my waste was the same ha ha Quote
poop Posted January 23, 2009 Report Posted January 23, 2009 my legs are cannons but ur knees are not muscles, so they get fucked . just warning u man of what can happen with a wide stance when its not needed. u need bindings on the board to measure your stance. just a hint. Quote
Santa Clauss Posted January 23, 2009 Author Report Posted January 23, 2009 i'm just sayin man, my knees don't hurt at all. Quote
DiMe Posted January 23, 2009 Report Posted January 23, 2009 (edited) My advice is no, why mess with the structural integrity of your board? If you must go wider get a larger board or a different model thats set up to go wider. If you say you don't have the money for a new setup than you definately shouldn't do somthing to a nice board you already have to increase its chances on breaking forcing you to replcae it. nick malozzi Posted January 23, 2009 Report Posted January 23, 2009 lay down a think glob of epoxy, drop the bindings on it, ride it gangsta Quote

Santa Clauss Posted January 23, 2009 Author Report Posted January 23, 2009 nick... thats actually not a bad idea, seriously... Well, its not a great idea ither, i don't want to ruin the bindings Quote
dw2430 Posted January 23, 2009 Report Posted January 23, 2009 measure both stances. mid binding to mid binding. i actually want to know what the sizes are Quote
