moe ghoul Posted January 30, 2009 Author Report Posted January 30, 2009 Low pressure out of Ontario is creeping down and bringing some chilly weather tomorrow, current storm track models are pushing it further east which bodes well for the pokes. Still too early, but so far so good. Quote
DiMe Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 AccuWeather.com is predicting a big storm in th eastern United States early this coming week to kick off what may be a stormy Febuary and early March. Quote
Dan- Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 the high for tuesday just went from 41 to 34 up here... come on snow! Fucking right it did. Just looked high for tuesday is 32, Just north of northeast Philly. Hopefully this passes over by wednesday, i got a flight to catch wednesday afternoon for Utar. Quote
bigdaddyk Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 Reverse psychology.. Actually, no. As much as I love snow, I don't want a huge storm. They are too much of a pain to get around in, they close roads, and it's a bitch when you don't have off street parking. I prefer smaller storms. I also don't want a lot of rain. That's why I'm hoping we get brushed with snow and not dumped on or rained on. Quote

Tyler Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 ive heard out here in western pa we could get something to rival the blizzard of 96. like 2 or 3 feet if it hits right Quote
HouseMuzik Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 ive heard out here in western pa we could get something to rival the blizzard of 96. like 2 or 3 feet if it hits right InaccuWeather says that. They are all about the onshore storm track.. even though every model now is completely off the coast. The storm would have to track basically over Eastern PA now for you to have a chance at that.. and slow down. Looking at the latest model runs... that doesn't look to be the case. In fact.. a lot are backing off the storm intensity notably. I don't see more than 12" for anybody from this storm from what I'm seeing *at this point*. But its looking more likely that Eastern PA may do well here. Quote
DiMe Posted February 2, 2009 Report Posted February 2, 2009 It's not looking to promising anymore:( Quote
moe ghoul Posted February 2, 2009 Author Report Posted February 2, 2009 Non event. The storm from GOM is tracking out to sea and doesn't appear to have much to it anyway. Low pressure from the west might give us an inch or 2 by tomorrow, maybe. Yawn. Still think the Pokeys get the goods in the 2/10-2/15 timeframe. Quote
moe ghoul Posted February 2, 2009 Author Report Posted February 2, 2009 Fucking BULL SHIT ! Pre mature storm threads suck. I vow never to start one more than 24 hours out. Quote
GS_RACE Posted February 2, 2009 Report Posted February 2, 2009 The newest models are now showing that the system won't move in until daybreak tomorrow saying that significant snow should fall during the daylight hours accumulating to about 3-5 inches with higher amounts in jersey. Quote
Johnny Law Posted February 2, 2009 Report Posted February 2, 2009 Pre mature storm threads suck. I vow never to start one more than 24 hours out. I so try not to but people were getting off on the models last week...its like a self inflicted nut shot. Quote

Mine feel like a speed bag. Jay's still calling for some refreshers into midweek, and TGR TR footage still looks good for stash quest. Quote
bigdaddyk Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 I skied BB today (2-2) and there was moderate to heavy snow, between 3 and 6pm, and it was still coming down pretty good, when I left. Quote

I planned on going to Elk on Tuesday, but the Poconos are supposed to get 3-7 inches starting Tuesday morning. I might just end up going to JF, instead, since it looks like Elk might be a littlle too far NW, for this. Quote
toast21602 Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 snowing here. nice dusting so far, although its hard to tell since the ground is still covered with snow from the first storm of the new year. Quote
DiMe Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 I was at Camelback from 3-8 it started snowing before sundown pretty heavily until I left the conditions were great especially on the steeps. I see now they're calling for 1-3 hopfully we at least get 3. Quote

It was actually totally dead tonight it was strange. Normally the mountains dead all day until the kids get out of school and they start to come up but not tonight. I suppose everyone else was hungover from Super Bowl Sunday. I'm sure boulders conditions were just as good if not better. Edited February 3, 2009 by DiMeThIcOnE Quote

I didn't go over to freedom, but BB park was empty. I thought the snow would bring people out. Quote
