IrishSnow686 Posted February 2, 2009 Report Posted February 2, 2009 I'm thinking about stopping at Killington for 2-3 days while on my way up to Stowe. I've never been to Killington so don't know much about the lodging there. I found on the website a place called Mountain Green lodging which seems to be very close to the base. Anyone stayed there or can suggest any other affordable lodging? Looking for a place w/ at least 2 rooms. Quote
moe ghoul Posted February 2, 2009 Report Posted February 2, 2009 We stayed at the Mountain Sports Inn, close to the hill, on the access road, basic continental bfast, that was pre season. Quote
RootDKJ Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 Another vote for the Mountain Sports Inn. Clean rooms, hot breakfast made to order, hot tub & tuning room (bring your own wax & scraper). What else can you ask for. If you go back there...return customer discount. If you can, strike up a conversation with Bob, the owner. Full of local info. Quote
IrishSnow686 Posted February 3, 2009 Author Report Posted February 3, 2009 Great! Thanks.. I'll check out the Mountain Sports Inn as well. Thats great they have a tuning room too. Thanks again! Quote
snorovr Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 Mountain Inn is always a safe bet too. Great breakfast, usually decent priced rooms, heated pool, tolerant of shinanaginery, etc... Stayed there a few times and its always been good. They have the kokopelli out front... Quote
PASKIINGSUCKS Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 For the extremely cheap and very very rustic route, grab your tent and 0 degree bag and sleep on the AT it's just down the road from pico. I don't think it has a continental breakfast though, it is free lodging on the other hand. Quote
sexkitten Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 We usually stay at the Inn of the Six Mts. It's a craphole and not cheap. This year we are trying the Killington Grand. Green Mt. is pretty close but it's not ski in/ out. Quote
KrAzY K2 Posted February 4, 2009 Report Posted February 4, 2009 If the Grand Resort Hotel does not work out, check with (if you have not already done so)... The Summit Lodge - http://www.summitlodgevermont.com/ Birch Ridge Inn - http://www.birchridge.com/ Greenbrier Inn - http://www.greenbriervt.com/ However, they are not ski in / ski out There is also a Comfort Inn towards the bottom of the access road... Green Mt. is pretty close but it's not ski in/ out. I remember reading your post about the Inn at Six Mts. so I pretty much ruled that one out right off the bat. Someone I know stayed next to the Killington Grand and said it looks really nice. I'm checking that one out too. The only thing is that there are 4 of us going (2 couples) and its only 1 bedroom with either 1 Queen and a pullout of 2 queen beds. We can make due if need be but it would be better to have a 2 room place. If the Grand Resort Hotel does not work out, check with (if you have not already done so)... The Summit Lodge - http://www.summitlodgevermont.com/ Birch Ridge Inn - http://www.birchridge.com/ Greenbrier Inn - http://www.greenbriervt.com/ However, they are not ski in / ski out I'll give those a look too. I saw the Summit Lodge on Killington's website but didn't see Birch Ridge or Greenbrier in there. Quote
IrishSnow686 Posted February 12, 2009 Author Report Posted February 12, 2009 Just booked my lodging and lift tickets for Killington. Decided on Glazebrook Townhomes which are only 1/2 mile from main base area. It was a good deal thru Killington Accomodations.. the price dropped the day I book it.. so for 4 people w/ 3 day lift tickets, it came out to only $255 per person. Quote

Wow thats a pretty killer deal, it's gonna cost me a little under that for only 200 people one night and 2 day lift tickets. How many nights are you staying? Quote
IrishSnow686 Posted February 13, 2009 Author Report Posted February 13, 2009 I'm staying only 3 nights. I wanted to go for the full week but 2 people in my group couldn't manage a full week off from work. When I first started looking the price per person was looking to be about 320 per person for 3 nights. As I kept checking, the price kept dropping. Killington has a 3 or 4 day Ski and Stay free package promo. The lodging thru the actual Glazebrook people was $560 for 3 nights, but thu Killington Accomodations it was $336 (originally $480 but dropped over the 2 weeks). Quote
