moe ghoul
Usually ends the 1st or second weekend in April conditions permitting.
TT C6
The best way to answer that question is to check the opening and closing dates at Jack Frost/Big Boulder. They have the longest season. I know they had riding on 10/31/08 and "May Day" on 5/6/08. Edited February 10, 2009 by TT C6
toast21602
well, if you are talking about actually hitting a mountain top to bottom instead of a 30yard patch of snow, there are places that almost always open between the middle of November and December and usually close around the end of March to Middle of April. But if you feel like hanging around a mob of 100 teenagers hiking a rail, then some places have a pile of snow around a week or two earlier or later. in the season. There's usually plenty of snow to last into mid April. The problem here is that there isn't enough people, to keep the places open that long. Our hills should save some of their marketing money and go nuts with getting the word out starting late february. JMHO

Last March I posted a helmet cam of JF that showed great snow and totally empty ski resorts... no lift lines, no tripping over in gapers. Go grab a friend who never skied and take them out in March. Its a great time to learn. No heavy pressure suits to battle the cold air. Sunglasses instead of goggles. Sunscreen and wet T-shirts.
