HouseMuzik Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 Made the 1 1/2 hr drive from Reading to SRT today with a friend. She was looking to finally figure out heelside turns, and the Mountain Passport we both got at the beginning of the season provides free lessons all year long. We got there around 330 -- got sidetracked at Buckmans who happens to be having a 2 for 1 sale... Conditions on most of the mountain were packed powder, with some parts of the hill still untouched even that late in the day. Guess SRT doesn't get busy during the weekday? Anyways, there was noticeably not a single patch of ice on the entire mountain, save for the lifts which they could do a lot better job at... those were a bit icy for my taste... The best run to me was Layfayettes Leap.. but I have to say I enjoy the bumps on Fanny Hill. One bad thing was that Fife and Drum was closed, but they are turning it into a huge terrain park and it looks pretty sick for RT. The jumps look similar to the Big Bear run at BC.. and there is a TON of features on the hill.. beside the jump I must of counted at least a dozen and a half.... I think we're going back later in the week.. I wanna check out that park.. Quote
