JFskiDan
got to frost at about 8 am, empty parking lot, empty slopes. started at lehigh and made my way over to east mountain for a few runs. everything was groomed real nice. floyds was super fast. everything started to loosen up nice at after about 9 am. at about 9:30 i started making my way over towards frosty where i was pretty confident i would be able to locate phillycore, serch and PC jr jr.(zachery) sure enough there was PC with the young one in tow. hooked up with serch and we made our way over to east mountain for a few more runs before heading back to check zachery's progress. we stumbled across PA ridge racer as he was also passing on the skiing tradition to his daughter. we all made a run down powder puff to learn that PC's youngest also has a thirst for skiing in the trees. this time may have been somewhat accidental though. made anouther run or two and headed into the lodge for our season passholders party, and if i may say so myself, had a real nice spread put out for everyone with plenty of food for all. after a long discussion whether todays conditions were chalky powder, snow cone, or sticky granular, we all decided we would go back outside to put some on our gloves to take a closer look. sorry, no video. anyways, thats when we split back up, i made a few more runs and left at about 1:30. Robert2
I wasn't planning on being at JF this weekend but ended up there anyway to teach a niece how to snowboard. I thought the lesson would be done at Blue. We got on the snow at noon and by then it was 50 degrees and snowcone wet slush. VERY slow riding anywhere flat so absolutely perfect for the totally novice student. She never got hurt and lasted until the ropes closed the hill at 4 PM. Robert2
nice video R2D2..is the music Jimi Hendrix?? Actually it is a nice video. This kid really is a never ever and by the last run of the day made it all the way down the hill without falling. The music is JEFF BECK YAN HAMMER FREEWAY JAM SO.... did anyone from PASR ever see me at all wearing the red jacket with PASR lettering? We got there at about 11, went through the rental process, got on the snow at noon, took a lunch break at 2, back out at 3 till close. We walked through E2000 about 2:30 during the awards so I might have seen or been seen by PASR people but nobody said anything to me. I STILL have never met a single PASR skier. Barb
It was so empty today. Morning was decent. By 1pm Exhibition had some major slush spots. Saw some bare spots on Thunderbolt. And yes, the ribs were good on the buffet. We all entered that fun race. David got 3rd and since I was the only entry in the female snowboarders age 20 and over, what do you know, I won. Haha. We got free tickets for next season, nice hook up. Next week we are heading to Vermont and who knows what the temps will do to the snow by early April. It may be our last weekend at JFBB, if so it was a great season. Got our 09/10 season passes today.

bigdaddyk
... By 1pm Exhibition had some major slush spots today... Out of all of the trails, that is my favorite one. For as cold as the winter was, this has been a horrible month for temps and rain. Edited March 16, 2009 by bigdaddyk
