ectobar Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 The runs are freaking short and the lifts are freaking slow..which leads to boredom.. How about you try not coming into the jfbb section and talking shit. You love blue the true, we get it. No one gives a shit. Stay there. Let the people who enjoy jf discuss without having to read your nonsense. Quote
snomakerglenn Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 I rode a detach once, stood in line 10 min. , had to take all my gear off, climbed in a little box with seven total strangers whom were sneezing, coughing, hacking up flem, blowing their noses, talking to their buddies on the cellphone (all but me, I was holding my breath) with 99% humidity that fogged my glasses and goggles. Windows were totally fogged up, too. At some point I just got feed up with breathing other peoples "sneezes", I almost puked!! Took 22 min. to get up a slope I came down in less than 6 min. So much for speed, I'll never get in one again, Thank You. Now, I'm not hateing on them, but there isn't a hill big enough around here to justify the absolute pain-in-the-ass to ride one. IMO. It's cool some places have that type of bling, but like E-bar said, "Who cares?" Quote
ectobar Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 ectognar..want to play some frisbee golf sometime? Your a loser. But if you were in/around philly, I would join you for a round. Quote
RidgeRacer Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 (edited) I mean in all respects lets be honest here...when I think of skiing glades, I think of making my own lines in fresh snow (with no CO residence bias when I say that)...I stay far far away from the trees when they're tracked out...not really fun for me. I guess it could be kinda cool though as long as they keep enough snow in there. Seems like a really good way to hit rocks. A lot of the trees, especially to (Challenge trees, T-Bolt glade, One Park Trees) get refreshed every time they blow snow on the adjacent trail. Of course if we're lucky enough to get natural snow then it's even better. When there's snow in the trees at Frost, which is a good portion of season. I spend most of my time off the trails. The glades give JF it's charm. And now for a little Jackson Frost tree stokage... Edited May 7, 2009 by PA Ridge Racer Quote
snomakerglenn Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 Wow, now that's a nice post. Thank You. Quote
snomakerglenn Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 Was that the old Killington Gondola..I know that took 25 minutes..but that was only a 4 seater..anyway..I think Jack Frost should install a Tram on the East Mountain!!!! Killington from main lodge to upper lodge. The ride didn't take all that long, but add in the long line and butt nasty conditions.......first impressions are lasting. I moved across mt. and had some sweet skiing. The whole "lift thing" doesn't really bother me, I just gawk or scope out my next pass. It's all good !!!! Quote
RidgeRacer Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 (edited) PaRidge, Thanks for the cool stoke on a warm day!!!! No problem. The allergies are bad. The bugs are out and the weeds are growing . Breaking out the ski photos keeps me sane. Edited May 8, 2009 by PA Ridge Racer Quote
snomakerglenn Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 Word..by pass do you mean run??? Yes. Sorry about that. Quote

I have skied 18 inches of untouched pow in the Jack Frost glades before and no, that is not sarcasm christmas storm of 02, then again on presidents weekend in 03 Quote
stever2003 Posted May 17, 2009 Report Posted May 17, 2009 I'm okay with the slow lifts for the most part... it keeps the crowds away and the snow nicer even longer..It's a formula that has worked wonders at Elk over the years and seems to be working pretty good for Frost.. agreed Quote
