moe ghoul Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 But it's showing upwards of a foot of snow in the midatlantic next Thursday/Friday Quote
AtomicSkier Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 Yeah we'll see..... ya let's not get too excited...we live in PA, after all. Quote
Johnny Law Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 All the stuff I've seen says coastal storm that at best gives SE PA a dusting, hopefully things move a little more north and we get some real snow. Regardless Wisp or Snowshoe will be the place to be Sunday. Quote

JFskiDan Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 But it's showing upwards of a foot of snow in the midatlantic next Thursday/Friday this weekends snow is kind of inverted, more along the coast than in the wonderful mountains of PA. i like your thinking for next week. think positive. That shit is hilarious. Now we'll see if he's actually right. Accuweather was saying heavy snow for Philly earlier today. Edit: just checked all the weather sites, nothing is even coming close to predicting 20 inches for anywhere in Pa. Edited December 18, 2009 by Dan- Quote
snorovr Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 I'm schedule to fly out of Philly @ 6:30am Saturday morning... oh boy Quote

HouseMuzik Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 The NAM did it again at 0z (7pm run)... it passes right over whats called the benchmark. Essentially this would be a blizzard... starts about 1pm saturday.. snow starts falling at a rate of 1-2" from say dinnertime through dawn sunday.. best snows of 20+" are actually south of the mountains.. but everybody gets slammed. Add to this the christmas storm thats now in the cards and you bet your sweet ass it will be like skiing in the rockies around here for a few days (minus the sick vertical drops lol!) Quote

Johnny Law Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 The NAM has a warm air bias that causes it to push every fucking storm too far north. I'm no weather man so hopefully I'm totally wrong but I just don't trust the NAM. Quote
Nidecker Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 (edited) I was just curious where the BIG amounts will be and NOAA's forcast for Callaway, Virgina at an Elevation on 2598' total accumulation 16-26" thats crazy! Of course thats the forcast for Tonight and Saturday. Lehigh County is in the area of 3-6" and locally higher amounts is Forcasted right now. See if that changes. Countys South of Lehigh is 6-12" and locally higher amounts. Edit: Those amounts are coming from WFMZ which gets their Forcast from NOAA. Edited December 18, 2009 by Nidecker25 Quote
