burton71 Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 Good day at BC today. Black Bear jump line was good in the morning. Landings got a bit rutted and bumpy later on. Tubing jumps were perfect. Cascade snow was sticky in the morning so those jumps weren't happening till later in the day. Park crew did a good job keeping up with the lips on the rails. Quote
TylerDurden Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 Tubing was off the metric scale. Quote
mollyskeez Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 i wanna see the second tubing jump built like it is now just bigger this season, bcause its sick right now and it could be sick a lil bigger i think Quote
HouseMuzik Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 I wonder how BC is going to handle 1-2" of rain this week. : Quote
burton71 Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 I wonder how BC is going to handle 1-2" of rain this week. : Wed - Sat look like they could be decent for snowmaking after the rain. Maybe even some natural snow later in the week. Quote
HouseMuzik Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 Yeah, wasn't looking that way earlier.. but that storm for the weekend is gradually moving north. We're overdue for a real good dump up here... Quote
antman12 Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 Has anybody checked the webcams today? looks like the lost A LOT of snow from all the rain. Apparently enough to close for today. Quote
mollyskeez Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 if they lost a lot of snow and the rails fall over in the halfpipe area hopefully they get switched up. the hugeee brown spots after every jump in black bear are not pleasant. Quote

Closing had more to do with the cobination of rain/wind/debris. But yes, if the cameras are any indication.. they might have lost 50% of their snowpack if not more Quote
Quickturns Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 Unfortunately, only rain on the uppper mtn due to the massive inversion Quote
EAZY-Emuntz Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 any post rain storm updates on conditions? Quote
burton71 Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 Looks like they put down a decent amount of snow last night. Quote
mollyskeez Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 42ft handrail would be superr funn. Quote
skeer_tomas Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 (edited) 42ft handrail would be superr funn. Yeah, that broke in half... But on a lighter note, we'll be making snow this week! We're in the process of recovering from the monsoon so we'll let some snow stack up this week and do a pretty big change up in lower Black Bear early next week. I think what we're going to go for in the the old half pipe area is try to space stuff out a little farther so landings don't get busted so quick. Edited January 27, 2010 by skeer_tomas Quote
P-architect Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 Yeah, that broke in half... RIP Quote
Saurus Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 i dont really think you need to space the rails up anymore at all. It would be nice for a halfpipe area change though. I think a sweet line would be an up rail, into a flat rail, into a down rail. Oh and I say we turn the dfd into a flat up flat again. And the wall ride could make a sweet feature if it had a small say 25degree pitch and was used as basically a giant up box. Quote
mollyskeez Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 flat handrail would be prime 42ft handrail will be missed. Quote
1337snowboarding Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 if you have the snow some thing like this would be pretty sweet. Quote
HouseMuzik Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 if you have the snow some thing like this would be pretty sweet. that would be cool.. but how many noobs would end up killing themselves or f-ing it up at BC Quote
Saurus Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 that would be cool.. but how many noobs would end up killing themselves or f-ing it up at BC that things not big or hard at all. it was fun for a little but got beat. I think it would be more fun if they didnt have the box at the end and just a landing to gap to. It would be sick if bear built that and put the bleacher box on the one side next to the mound and the picnic table on a slant on the other side. that would be cool.. but how many noobs would end up killing themselves or f-ing it up at BC that things not big or hard at all. it was fun for a little but got beat. burton71 Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 Icy and windy as hell last night. But they def. have recovered from the melt down. Lots of snow on the mountain. Quote
capitakilla Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 the bleacher box would be alot nicer setup horizontal. Quote
burton11 Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 yeah i think they def need to put the wall ride up. Quote
