Justo8484 Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 John's slacking, so here's my generous gift to PASR. snow was pretty on point most everywhere today. there were the usual scrapey spots around the big turns (lazy, nightmare/dreamweaver intersection, switchback) but for the most part, the snow was soft enough everywhere that i could hold an edge on my park skis. mostly just lapped groomers all morning, and then once the sun got on em, hit up the bumps on barneys. we skied the bumps on challenge once and they sucked. spaced too far apart, so you got the standard 6 or 7 feet of solid ice between bumps. barneys are spaced perfectly right now, and the snow in them was awesome. i think we did about 10 straight bump runs. lower park is the same, pretty fun, has good flow, but kinda slow. come around is a general mess these days, with lots of cross-trail traffic, and it's getting kinda boring. central was stepped out, but still needs rails and a final grooming. the jumpline on sidewinder is all built and was groomed for testing, but there were no rails out, and the top and bottom of the trail was not done being groomed when i left around 2. took a bunch of random video today, so look for more of that from john, and maybe me if i'm bored tonight. for now, peep this one from barney's: 2 Quote
AngryHugo Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 nice vid, and nice riding with you guys today. When Tinkle Boy took off to do his thing, I ran a few more laps down Main St and Switchback. On one ride up the 6-pack, I was all the way on the right side of the chair, and some ski patrollers were all the way on the left. One of them, not seeing me, said "I really wish we could kick all these snowboarders off the mountain." Unbelievable. Don't hit your head getting back into your time machine going to 1985. Other than that, great day and great conditions. The only icy spot was on Dreamweaver, and that wasn't even that bad. Quote
RootDKJ Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 I was going to head up today, but I overslept by about two hours. I was pretty pissed at myself, but I guess I really needed the rest. I'll be up one night this week. Maybe Wednesday. Quote
tarponhead Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 I'll be up one night this week. Maybe Wednesday. When does race clinic start? This Tuesday? Quote

RootDKJ Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 we were looking for you today. Yeah, I F'd up and didn't wake up until around 8am. Quote
toast21602 Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 anyway, like justin said, today was really good. here is some photo evidence: pic of lower park and them grooming out central park a shot of the jump line on sidewinder. kinda hard to see. bumps on challenge. the bumps were better on mainstreet as you can see by justin's video. the snow was awesome today. no complaints at all. justo and ryan doing their thing... grooming was good today as well. again, no complaints with grooming in weeks. they stepped it up after all the complaints. and what makes it better is that they have been blowing a nice layer on most of the trails right after they are groomed. then we ended the day with some shooting in the lower park since thats all thats worth filming right now. both gopros were out today so the lower park probably looks like a circus with our cameras mounted on our helmets and poles. and thats all. photo and video reports making PASR so much better. i'm glad people are starting to do that more now. yay. AngryHugo Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 Yeah, I considered chasing him down and getting his name so I could report him to Jim, but decided against it. Hopefully all the ski patrollers on snowboards and the park crue know the guy. Whatever. If he wants snowboards to go away, then hopefully he realizes he'd probably be out of a job or be making half of what he does. Quote
tarponhead Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 Yeah, I F'd up and didn't wake up until around 8am. The VIP line today rocked. Pretty much ski up and on 50% of the time. Crowds were not that bad either today. Whatever, like you said, after time up north, sleep probably required. Betcha the bumps on razors and challenge are gone tomorrow.... Quote
