INCREASING PRECIPITATION AND SOUTHERLY WINDS WILL END THE THREAT OF OF FOG AND URBAN HAZE EARLY IN THE WEEK. A STRENGTHEN TROUGH OVER THE EASTERN PACIFIC LATE IN THE WEEK WILL FOCUS HEAVY PRECIP ACROSS THE SOUTHWEST AND SOUTH CENTRAL PORTIONS OF THE STATE. SOME OF THIS HEAVY PRECIPITATION WILL WORK INTO NORTHERN UTAH...THOUGH MOST OF THE SIGNIFICANT PRECIPITATION WILL FALL AS SNOW IN THE MOUNTAINS. kragan Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 Do you know which mountains you are going to hit or are you going to wait until you get out there to decide? Personally, I highly recommend making a visit to Snowbasin. Of the 4 places I hit last winter in Utah, that was my favorite. Quote
ectobar Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 I'm also out here with a friend for the week. You guys picked a good week to go. I was talking to a guy in the ski shop and he was saying they are expecting around 3ft of fresh this week. They definitely need it here too. I got out to Brighton yesterday, and Solitude today. Both places were a lot of fun, but there are rocks and shrubbery sticking out all over the place. Some heads up on some ticket deals. Get your tickets at Canyon Sports. They have a couple locations, and savings are in the $5-12/per day. But an even better deal is available for Solitude. If you bring them 10 labels off 20oz vitamin water bottles, you can get a buy one get one free deal. So you'll end up getting a ticket for around $40, not too shabby. Think I'm hitting Solitude again tomorrow, and then hitting the bird for the next couple days. Quote

method9455 Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 Your timing is awesome. Snowbird was stuck at like 144" for like 2 weeks up until yesterday, and now it looks like the faucet is open. I'm not a big NOAA fan for mountain forecasts but undoubtedly you will get some. Quote
Justo8484 Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 so to start the trip off right, we're sitting at my apartment, just got back from belgian cafe, and toast is passed out in the chair, and t*maki is near passed out on the sofa. flight leaves at 1230 tomorrow, so we'll probably hit up something really unhealthy for lunch so toast and kt can stink up the airplane. stay tuned... snorovr Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 (edited) Toast's farts should be declared WMD's. I feel for the people on the airplane. He assaulted multiple aisles in the back half of the plane on the first flight... off to a great start... Edited January 21, 2010 by T*Maki Quote
