Timeless Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 Hi All, Just to help the Tahoe economy recover after Phillycore's departure, my Son and I left the ladies at home and headed up to the mountains for a day at Sugarbowl. We arrived for first lifts, with no new snow claimed or visible we were looking forward to a day of nice groomers and sunny weather, so starting at the Judah lodge we worked our way across the mountain from the Judah lift all the way across to the far side in the "strawberry" area, via the Lincoln and Disney peaks. Disney was best early on with the sun hitting it full on in the early morning, with the run in the first picture probably the best groomer, but as soon as we had done this we discovered that the snow off to the sides hadn't frozen up and was easily ski/ride-able. From that point we did very few other marked runs all day, having a great time buzzing down off of mainly disney and lincoln peaks. The lift lines were pretty decent (mostly short) and the weather stayed beautiful all day. We quit a little after 2 as after 16 runs (nearly all off trail) my nine-year-old had nothing left in his legs. Here's a few pic's, if you are ever in the Tahoe area, don't overlook Sugarbowl, it consistently get the most snow and has terrain from mild to downright nasty (check the website / trail map and look to skiers left of lincoln). Another great Cali day. best groomer of the day, one of very few as it turned out Lucas enjoying some powder View from the top Last run of the day, head straight for the lodge Quote
