AtomicSkier Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 NOAA says 3-7" for the B and 3-5" for Palmerton. At least Lehigh/Northampton have winter storm warnings posted now... Quote
RootDKJ Posted February 4, 2010 Author Report Posted February 4, 2010 Am I the only one thinking about investing in some chains tomorrow??? I actually thought about this, but most of them have 30mph speed restrictions. Quote
AtomicSkier Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 I actually thought about this, but most of them have 30mph speed restrictions. When chains are actually required, you shouldn't be going over 30mph, anyway. I have a set of really low profile ones....JUST in case Quote

AtomicSkier Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 Where did you get yours? the sub-s class ones i have... http://www.tirechain.com/sub-s-diamond-chains.htm you could get something really beefy for a SUV...but nothing is a replacement for good tires. Quote

sexkitten Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 if I'm leaving from Pottstown / north coventry how early should i leave? I'm planning on taking 100 to 309. i was thinking of leaving at 6 to get there with enough time, am i thinking along the right lines? 100 to 309? You mean 22? Anyway we live in North Coventry and on a normal day we leave at 6:30 and get to the Mt. right before 8:00. Taking into account poor road conditions and fraidy cat slow pokes I would leave at 5:30 at the latest if you want to be at the Mt. when they open. Hope this helps. Quote
AtomicSkier Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 If you want to ensure you're on the first chair...plan on being there at 7:30. Oh, and I see that Johnny Style is reading this...make sure you're there for first chair! Quote
Justo8484 Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 Spring mountain could be deeeeeeep!!!!! I'm almost ready to check out the accuweather forums...some optimistic skiing weather geek must have Blue with dick deep accumulations.. Am I the only one thinking about investing in some chains tomorrow??? i wouldn't put chains on your car. Quote

AtomicSkier Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 wowow....the NOAA who previously had the lowest estimates is now saying 5-9 for Bethlehem with 1-2" on Saturday. Quote
AtomicSkier Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 ya it looks like it has shifted south...who knows....we'll see when we wake up on saturday Quote
sexkitten Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 Maybe we will ski Saturday... it'll get us away from all the snow. Or maybe we'll ski BC. Who knows. Quote
moe ghoul Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 Calm before the storm, graybird skies, panicky urbanites scrambling to the market, I love it. Quote
krs1pitt Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 Go skiing!!!!!! Especially since you won't go Sunday because you are hitting da club....if I skipped skiing everytime I hit da club, I would only ski 50 days a year. I get a kick out of the people who take winter storm forecasts at face value. I am still calling for zero to 20 inches!!!! don't know about you guys but anything > 3 and I'm a happy man Quote
moe ghoul Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 I got a boatload of stuff to do today, but I'm keeping the weekend wide open, trip to Blew and/or JF, maybe some trees in the park, check out the Wiss Ski hill, XC, maybe even Johnny Law's secret stash at Rebel Hill. The possibilities are endless. YEAH!!!!!!!! Seriously hope that the Pokes finally get a legit hit this time around. Quote
AtomicSkier Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 I don't like the R word in the forecast for Bethlehem. No R word for palmerton though. Quote
