skimom
The 'dude and I headed up to Belleayre today to find out the Red Cross commandeered it for local folks who's homes were washed away during the storm. Amidst rushing floodwaters we could see houses and cars partially submerged in the local towns on Rt. 28. Let's hope the rescuees find new homes, or get to go back to their old homes ASAP. They gave us both vouchers since we couldn't ski. Edited April 4, 2005 by skimom

skimom
In any event, let's hope things resolve soon, so they can reopen. Their snow coverage looked like it was still excellent. UGH, having to get that 1,000,000th foot in at Huntah...how UNCERIMONIOUS.

"You are supposed to look out for the things in front of you, thats the whole idea" Do you know, that nowhere on the Hunter sign, could I find mention of looking up when entering onto a trail, but that there was an item, that when you are overtaking, that you are to yield... I guess that personifies New York Skiing. Edited April 4, 2005 by Papasteeze

Humph.... hindsight...... Hey! We didn't get vouchers!!

The Internet is amazing!! go to http://nelsap.org Too cool!!!! Ski Cortina ~ Haines Falls Have you ever wondered what happened to your favorite ski area? Why did it close? What was the history behind it? Ever driven by a closed ski area and wondered what it was, its legacy? NELSAP is here to answer your questions. Stories, pictures, and hard facts are used to describe the lost ski areas of New England and elsewhere. Since October of 1998 more than 600 areas have been listed on this site! Each state is listed on the menu bar on the left side of this webpage. Just click a state and you'll be on your way to exploring some rather interesting history. Schif
Hey that NELSAP stuff is pretty cool. I love looking at stuff like that for some reason. Wouldn't it be cool to go around and ride some of those places (assuming you could get to them).
skierboi
ya, most of those places are mini, i never knew there were that many in jersey that closed, vermont had like

I'm 20 and will be 21 this weekend. Maybe the stats manager could keep track of the number of resorts... Any chance of adding this in, ThinkSnow??????? ThinkSnow
Yeah... it already breaks down resorts individually, so getting a count would be quite simple. Look for it next season
