burton71 Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 and this is exactly why i'm fine with skiing halfpipe not being an olympic sport. having a straight air in your run is a cop out. snowboarders in the x games were using them as a set up air. set up airs for skiers in the x games were zero spins, flat 3s, and alley oop 7s. explain to me how a straight air shows more skill and mastery of the sport than an alley oop flat 3? No it isn't a cop out at all for people who know about snowboarding. It shows board and body control as well as style. It shows mastery of the basics. It should be one of the biggest and most stylish tricks in the run. Take Vito's run as a perfect example of why they should have straight airs in runs. He nails that straight air and he scores much higher. And I guess you missed all the snowboarders throwing spins as setup tricks in their runs during the x-games. Quote
